Hey, I server transferred to Dragonfall but will be back in 3-4 days. Did I miss anything? Like an event that you said you guys were collecting the tax money to do?

Why vote for you, if people can vote for someone who will keep taxes lower and organize events too? Events aren't that uncommon after all.

I'm not voting for you because when you were challenged about your taxes you had a tantrum, told people to suck it up, and then when you couldn't handle the disagreement behaved like a 3 year old and went personal. Not very friendly, nor approachable.. you should be the guy outside the polling station picking up litter, not the guy people are voting for.

why vote for someone who can't man up?

If it wasn't for the fact that someone in your guild was extremely nice and pleasant in PM's with me, promissing that you would be changing yoru taxes assoon as you got on, etc etc.. I'd be going all out and making fun of any dumb [filtered] still in your guild after you showed yourself to be a completely ridiculous person.

I've been in your area daily doing daily quests- otherwise I wouldn't bother, but I haven't seen that tourney/etc that you said you were going to provide if elected last time.. you know, the reason why you said you had to have the highest taxes on the server?

And it's funny..that afer all the preening and self-indulgent holier-than thou blithering, you changed your taxes but not, might I ad, until you tried to justify the tax rates of every other area (which were lower than yours) with why you had to charge as high as you did.. ie: "Well I plan on having tournies..." or some such bull[filtered].

That's like Obama getting in office and saying "well, I plan on making parties where people can come out so I'm going to raise taxes because you're lucky I'm your leader.."

Funny Tantrum though :: pats troll belly and wiggles toes::

Tinker, you made my day with that post.
To add my three cents to the argument - anytime I would challenge high taxes I got a response along the lines of "Stop [filtered]ing about couple of silver". It could be used as a counter argument and simply why would vanarch care about couple additional silver from each buy/teleport and whatnot. They would even get more "fans" if the taxes were lower...
And, like Tinker said - I haven't heard anything about events organized by Moriken. And weren't events supposed to be your trade off card for election?

@ All By all means if someone else is willing to run for Vanarch and keep everything turned on and running I am not going to argue that. No one seems interested in the zone however and I am willing to continue keeping things up and running. I don't believe in minimum taxes as the base tax was 5% thus I will keep it that way. If you wish to go to a different zone then you may do so to purchase your goods. The Vanarchy is not some fun and games thing and it actually requires effort, maybe not for larger guilds that have plenty of people to farm all the world bosses but the medium sized to smaller guilds should be thanked. I have kept everything up and running at all times except the noble cleric (waste) and skill trainers (no one buys skills in Val Tirkai).

@ Plunia So far I am attempting to start the small pvp events but many people don't seem to be interested in PvP at the moment, or my announcements are at a bad time. The tax system doesn't actually make a lot of money so I don't see how using it will help in that regards. I would at least like it to pay me the 3k gold I spent back but it wont even do that. I find it pointless to host large PvP events or beauty contests when two other Vanarchs are doing so and I will let them do it since prime time is the weekend and that is when they do it. I will however work with them or donate and continue to run my smaller stuff.

@Tinkerballa All I can say is that at this point you are slandering me, you have admitted on multiple occasions that you are a troll and that you enjoy making people suffer so your arguments are false and moot. I would like to ask nicely for you to stop slandering before I begin reporting you. I realize you disagree with me and it is ok to have your own opinion, but you are taking it a little too far especially with the lies.

@Taxes

I assume most people playing the game are from America and in America people complain about everything. So yes complaining about a few silver is a little overboard especially when the tax was 5% higher than normal and no one complained about previous taxes when they were base 5. You have the choice to purchase or use NPCs in a town and thus your free will is not being restricted and our free will of taxing is allowed as well. The tax is meant as a reward for Vanarchs working to keep the zone running and some Vanarchs feel that their efforts are worth 1%. Again for large guilds and guilds that keep nothing running this is fine, but we do keep things running and we do work for it, trust me.

Those of you who keep arguing about it are no less greed than those who you accuse of being greedy for taxes. It is obvious that if a few silver cannot be given extra per transaction that you are being greedy especially when killing a single mob in Val Tirkai will award you 40s-2g plus any the loot that drops with it. I believe in government and I believe in taxing, I however do not believe in bleeding people for their money hence why taxes are not MAX. I realize that other Vanarchs keep their taxes at 1% and that is fine, I don't need to hide behind a 1% tax to gain favor and I don't mean that in a disrespectful way.

I'm Voting for him.

Most of the vanarchs are getting nothing back, to be honest while it's not about the money it would be nice to get back what you put in. What most people don't realize is that 5% is ACTUALLY the DEFAULT tax you leveled with before vanarchs were in the picture.

The whole point of the taxes was to get the money back you put in so I can see taxes being fair if they are between 5.5-7% - anything above that is bleeding the people dry.

I'd rather have tax rates a bit higher, than be in an area where shops and trainers aren't open. which is a bigger strike in my book - ESPECIALLY in higher (50+) areas, which I saw a lot of.

**edit** Perhaps if you want an event - you could make suggestions, this way perhaps one can be organized better and be more successful, asking for something and then not giving suggestions is just as bad as not hosting them. :)
