I like your photos Radii ;o, I just had beginners luck...lol i was using Jadora's youtube video as a guide and the screenshot she used was totally bright and warm looking, I had to make mine the opposite. I also think like my cut out looks a bit pixely @.@

and btw. stop crying! i kept going every day trying to get it to perfection and i even translated kodamas stuff for you.. u got it right there step by step, use it!
lol i started working on your pic, still with the tiny resolution. even the one you reposted was tiny, now i click on your pic again after im done retouching and the resolution is bigger xD wth!

And also I have a question ;o The screenshot that I retouched (on the last page at the bottom), when I was cutting out my char, the edges ended up being really pixely where as yours are nice and smooth and soft. Can you give me any advice? It would be much appreciated ^-^

i have been using the pentool for quite a while now, you should give it a try : D
last time i used it, i used it on this one. the outlines of the desk and char are extremely clear and crisp.
and you see the difference is extreme compared to something i did forever ago. this was my first one, the outlines are all smudgy and stupid :D
another tip from my first post: When you take your screenshots, set all video settings to 6 (maximum settings) AND the higher the resolution of your pic, the better the retouch will turn out.
