If everyone drew the exact same way, art would be boring. I find different styles of character anatomy interesting. Of course, there's a difference between when something looks 'different' and when something looks 'bad' and/or 'wrong.' I see the former here.

I'm actually working in the game design industry as a character artist. So, most of that stuff is a little old as my new stuff is covered under NDA's. So if you want to rip me, go right ahead. i'll stand behind my work and not make excuses like "it's my style." I get far harsher critique than i gave you on a daily basis.

so yes, i am your peer.

there is style and then there is anatomy. You can squish and stretch anatomy to suit your style but it still has to look correct. Thin waist, long legs, wide hips, that's all fine, as long as everything still works together cohesively. having one leg longer and thicker than the other, is not correct anatomy, no matter your "style"

^All that you needed to reply to put an end to that discussion. When someone offers unwelcome criticism, you don't have to compose a rebuttal. You also don't have to bow down and praise their wisdom. A simple noncommittal acknowledgement is plenty.

I can take constructive criticism. I have no problem listening to my peers' feedback. What I have problem with is condescending people who pretend to offer helpful advice when they are clearly trying to look superior and boost their own self esteem by convincing themselves they would never make such sophomoric "errors." Especially when it's coming from some scrub online who posts nothing but such unsolicited "critiques" while posting no work of their own. Seriously, who takes so much time out of their life to nitpick over other people's work? You really seem to feel like you have something to prove. What are you looking for? Are you waiting for people to say "OH WOW! You sound so knowledgeable about art! You must be some super special awesome artists! Please, tell me how to be awesome like you!" I'm not going to blow sunshine up your [filtered] like you seem to want.

The whole "you can't take criticism" thing is also such a bull[filtered] defense. It's like the "you don't have a sense of humor" line. Yes. I do. I can take criticism. When there is constructive criticism, I will recognize it. When there is trolling, I am going to call you out on your BS.

And I'm delusional? I'm not the one playing Mr. Art Critic all over the forum like a pedantic A-hole.

There is constructive criticism and than there is tearing into (FAN ART) piece by piece down to every little detail. Let a person draw in their style and leave it at that. Jeez what is with this community.

Missing the days with Ragnarok Online when folks submitted Fan Art people tended to be supportive. Guess when you have a MMO rated Mature it tends to bring out the opposite.
