I hope that in this game, XoO does not attempt to create a numbers game out of PvP, morphing into the well known Zerg of Onslaught.

It won't be but it also depends on your definition. The first time I was ever called "Xerg of Onslaught" was in RFO where we had the highest lvls, best geared and best organized members out of all the "non-zerg" guilds.

To me a zerg means high numbers and low quality. When you have high numbers of the best geared and best players, to me you are not a zerg at all. You are just a successful guild.

We will be a QUALITY HARDCORE guild but at the same time we will not be setting absolute limits just to avoid the "zerg" title since to be honest a lot of times its just thrown around at whoever has more members online than you.

A lot of times it's thrown around at people who follow the belief, "If I bring 20 people to kill 3, those 3 will call their guild and we can have 20v20!"

That or it is the first excuse people come up with. Often people just aren't bothering to count.

True. Pretty much how guild rivalries happen though, nothing wrong with it. I laugh when the group that gets ganked goes and brings 26, and then gets complaints for it. Really you can't please the people you are beating, and why try?

Didn't you also dupe, hack and exploit as a guild in RFO?

Everyone exploited in RFO I did it to in order to max my buffs. Wall Glitch with another toon and jam your keyboard LOL. Nice to see a nostalgic guild of XoO. I was in RainMau, Momentum

Haha, wow, couple of people from RFO. Didn't think anyone still remembered that game. Shira, a founder of Dynasty, Earth Server Cora right here =) I quit right before the server merge.

Haven't seen XoO since back then but I look forward to PvPing against ya again.

We never duped or hacked. To be honest I don't know if anyone did, I never noticed anything big that affected me within game.

The "exploiting" is debatable, a lot of people leveled their debuffs by jamming a coin in their keyboard in a out of the way place all night.

I'll have to admit that I was perhaps one of the pioneers on my server that first did this and others followed and eventually it became the norm. There's always debate on these things though, some call it exploiting, others call it clever use of game mechanics =p. This practice was very common and nobody was ever banned because of it.

I also had one of the highest level and best geared characters in game while I played therefore it was easy for me to score kills. I liked to keep my pvp points low (forget what they were called) so that whenever I killed anyone with high points they would take a massive loss. Some called that exploiting, I just called it "hitting them where it hurts" =).

XoO gem duped in AoC.

Also, given that a majority of the guilds here arrived at BC to avoid zerg-pvp, I would hope that you keep in mind the efforts people are making. Of the folks on the forum, we're mostly small guilds (under 60 players), with quite a bit of new guilds. These are not 300 member guilds. These are not people interested in bringing together 300 people via alliance to 'fight the zerg'. We already have some of the larger 'small' guilds being mindful of how many people they run around with.

Many people will be in a group of 5 or less while in questing areas. Velika Outskirts is the hotbed of larger warfare.

I truly hope that this is the game you decide not to become Zerg of Onslaught.

I probably left AoC before there was any gem duping since I didn't even know that was possible.

Our CoC prohibits any action that goes against the EULA. Sure there will always be members who don't follow the rules and if we know about it we will kick them out. I cannot guarantee you that its always been that way but for as long as I've played in a division I have never tolerated anything that would hurt my reputation.

I come from the old school mmorpg school of thought. Have been playing since before Ultima Online. My reputation has always been my most cherished asset and to me my guild is an extension of myself. If someone does something then it would be the same as if we all did if we tolerated those actions.

Our TERA NA division will be catering to our hardcore players. I personally have no life and will play 100+ hrs per week and I like having like minded people to play with. Our requirement won't be anything that crazy. It will be in the 30+ hrs per week range. I think there's natural limits in place already so I'm not too worried about setting a limit ahead ot time. Things like how many active members you can get and how many people you can effectively organize.

At the same time I would be crazy not to accept 300 players that all play 100+ hours if we can properly organize them. This sort of thing is very unlikely to happen though, there just aren't that many people that play so much.

Bottom line is we will be a QUALITY hardcore guild in TERA. I look forward to getting to know more of you and if you think we are the sort of guild you would want to be a part of, look us up once the game starts.
