Well, warriors can act as off tanks when needed and zerkers are by far the best DD, along with sorcs.
Archers are just mediocre dd with some utility. From what ive heard/noticed anyway.

You pretty much don't need archers until 60, no offense. I don't know what kind of zerkers you've seen do less damage than archers, but you must have seen some pretty awful zerkers.
