Well, then why start this thread? Isnt your guild a smaller one? Isnt it for smaller guilds to be a part of the community?

We participate in the events, and help support them. Running events has never been our strong suit, but as a member of the community I know I can participate in them, and drive others I know within the community to participate in them. One of the reasons I was excited that Basilisk Crag had been selected by the RP-PvP community as their unofficial home is that RP communities are generally strong at running events, and can come up with some pretty unique ideas. Recognizing my own weaknesses in that area, I've committed to helping where I can, and being present for those that I can attend.

In doing so, I am a part of the community, and I'm working to involve others within the community.

This thread has many facets to it, it's not just one point, there are many reasons to have this thread.

So far as the lack of running, why spend the 3k gold when the result is predetermined by the large guilds? Simple as that. I find that dialog amusing, sitting there scratching your head as to why no one is running when it is obviously rigged.

Nagafen and Crux Knights have a great realtionship, but this is not at all true, Mashien. The reason people don't run is not because of big alliances. It is because it is a pain in the butt with no meaningful rewards. The mount is simply not worth 3k + the hours and hours of farming required to keep stuff up.

I am certainly not calling you out and you might not even know this, but I spoke with Xelana on the last day of registration for this election b/c I knew hardly any guilds were running. I wanted Crux Knights to run and offered our support to get you guys Vanarch in South Shara. Xelena said you guys weren't interested because of the upkeep required to do it correctly. That is a 100% noble decision on your part, but at the same time it speaks volumes as to why people arent running.

Even the smallest guild, with the slightest bit of effort, could get a Province this election that will make exactly the same as Nagafen, Divine and Rising Phoenix. Why aren't they doing it? My guess is because of the same reason that guilds that "have it in the bag" arent doing it, like Illuminus. It's not really worth the effort.

We absolutely do have a great relationship with Nagafen and that will continue, I am not sure what that has to do with anything I have mentioned here. My post's here are about the state of the server I have been trying to leave my guild out of it as much as possible. Try to seperate my posts from Crux Knights or they wont make much sense. I will however now have to respond to what you have raised regarding Crux.

Its not true at all? If its not worth doing why are guilds going to such lengths to rig it? I agree its probably not the only factor but it is certainly a consideration for some guilds.

I know of the the offer and It's true the upkeep was a factor, we want to be certain we can fulfill our obligations before taking a seat.

However it was not the only reason we declined. Xelana holds the GM title but we are ruled by council. I happened to be off for a few days when the offer came through, fortunately I had discussed the vanarch seats with everyone at great lengths and they all knew my answer would be hell no.

One of the other reason's for us to decline is that politically being handed a Vanarch seat by you guys would be increadibly stupid on our behalf. We don't need or want the attention being a part of that voting block brings. It is simply not acceptable to us.

I would say this though we have voted for Nagafen in all of the elections because you guys do a good job and we get along very well!

I hate the idea of alliances handing out vanarch seats. If and when we run for a vanarch seat it will be on our own terms, we try to play fair.

Every vote is an actual person that is doing the clicking. We just wanted you to get Vanarch. We know that a lot of your members already voted for us, so it wasn't any kind of political play. We just have 200 members that like you and wanted to see you rewarded. Shouldn't hate that and that certainly seems fair to me.

Krim that will likely be the path we take.

Oloh, that is a fair comment. I know it wasn't a political play for our favour as you already have it :D

Hate was probably too strong a word to use, more I don't like the idea of it, or the appearance it gives. We are council ruled though so my opinion is not the only one that matters and that stance may change next election given how this one has gone.

I went into this election with too many assumptions thats for sure.
