i was in crux from day one, and chose to move over to black yesterday to help get that guild and help keep that guild going. great people in there so far. sorry you left bud.

all in all there are a LOT of changes coming to crux, yes people despise spartacus's political tactics, but as far as guil leader goes, hes doing a good enough job. thanks for the support fellow crux'ers and again, please dont let gibbidy-goop persuade you into believing something you havent witnessed first hand. crux is full of good people, as are many other guilds. we just happen to be the biggest atm, and alot of the animosity were seeing is related to that. we take in anyone that wants to come, but being a douche will get you booted just as quickly here as it would in most other guilds. we do not, and never have ninja invited, we do have a few people whispering noobs and inviteing them. and we do have a lot of people taking the time to help them with questions etc.. so as far as guilds go, were a great guild imho. 800+ members stay, so we must be doing something right. and as for alts, sorry sir, no no alts are allowed, thats what crux vault is for. if we do find alts in the guild they are promptly removed, as are people who are inactive and havent mentioned they would be gone for a time longer than 10 days.

make up your own minds is all im asking. dont bepressed into a negative mindset because someone got removed for being a douch and chooses now to browbeat the guild.

Spartacus is the kind of person I would like to have nothing to do with, whether its as a member of a guild he's in, or as a member of a guild in alliance with him. As for the Crux membership, I think zerg inviting at island of dawn is bound to put a bunch of bad apples in your guild when you have no standards for invite. That being said, I certainly don't automatically assume that if they have some form of Crux logo above their character that a player is going to be subpar or rude or something of that nature. I will party with crux members, do dungeons with them, etc., as long as things go well and people behave like adults I'm fine with whomever. My only problem is the roughly a half a dozen rude, or subpar players from among the various crux guilds that I've encountered. People doing things like following you and purposely jumping in and kill stealing quest mobs, or BAMs. Just two nights ago I ran into a member of Crux Black that wiped a dungeon run. He was very politely asked to wait a little bit before jumping in to attack mobs pulled by the lancer, so as to avoid further mass links (he jumped in early the entire run, finally ending with a link that was much more than the party could handle), at which point he said nothing was his fault and insulted our mothers and logged out, resulting in us calling the run only halfway through. I am very aware that these players are a tiny portion of your membership, but when you zerg invite and have 700+ players, you tend to end up with a lot larger number of these folks, even if they are a small minority of the whole. This in turn results in your guild getting a bad rep, since people encounter these bad apples more frequently. When this is stacked on top of the bad press that Spartacus has caused for Crux, you end up being the lepers of the server, regardless of the quality of your good folks. Unfortunately, as with many things in life, the minority tend to ruin things for the majority. Reversing this bad rep Crux seems to have earned will take a lot of work from the guild leadership and membership, but if you have the kind of quality folks you say, then it should be very doable for you. :]

Now, I am an officer of Conviction, and as such, I have tried to leave the actual politics of what is going out of this discussion, because I understand the challenges of being in guild leadership. Dealing with political fallout on top of general guild bashing is the last thing anyone in that position wants to deal with. I hope what I have offered regarding the membership of Crux as a whole has helped some, and I plan to continue treating Crux members just the same as everyone else I encounter on Blightwood. I wish the best of luck to all of Crux's membership, and to you Master.Po.

Then that RToPH (Rectal Tuft of Pubic Hair), your glorious leader who is doing such a fine job whispers, "What happened?" I told him I got kicked and not sure why. What's more, I didn't know Spartacus was a guild member or the GM like I didn't know anyone else in the guild. He didn't say another word.

Let me tell you something about leadership Master Po. I am retired Navy and a good 17 of those years I was a supervisor. You NEVER listen to just one side of the story and you NEVER just let things go without some type of response even if you are in fact going to stand by the side of the person who kicked you. A true leader wouldn't ask a question and not follow up. A true leader doesn't need to play political games like your RToPH. Wanna know how to really handle political situations, this is for idiots 101 needing to boost their political prowess:

1. Whisper guild leaders and wish them luck in the up coming election.
2. Talk to people on the server and in different chats and be opinionated yet polite and let people see your fun side.
3. Be firm on things you feel should be changed
4. Let people know in LFG and Area that you are running and offer them assistance with quests. If you can't do it personally, then ask your guild if they would help you represent. Follow this by explaining to your guild the benefits of being a Vanarch guild and reason with them explaining that they are still getting experience and moving up levels by helping out.
5. Say it out loud in LFG and Area chat, "You are exactly the type of person I wouldn't have in my guild because (fill in the situation here).
6. Say it even louder in LFG and Area chat, "You were a blast to quest with and I would give anything to have more like you join the ranks of my guild."
7. When someone is kicked, you let them know why. You also let them know they aren't ever welcome back.
8. Explain your guild up front when someone joins. I personally take the time for each and every one of my guildies when they join. If they join when I'm not online, I get back to them. That way everyone knows your toleration and surprises don't diminish your guilds reputation
9. Most important thing you can do - DON'T EVER, NOT IN YOUR EXISTENCE DEFEND ANYONE THAT HAS ALREADY SPOKEN FOR THEMSELVES LIKE SPARTATWIT DID WITH SO MANY PEOPLE ON THE SERVER.

There's my wall of text and please, don't ever give some stupid crap about our guild has a bad rep cause of the bleeding obvious things that can't be helped (a.k.a. size, guild crest, etc.). After reading your defense, I can say without a single wink that I won't lose any sleep over you or your guild ever. Now that you have seriously bashed your own rep with stupid ideals on how elections should be run and your defense on a pitiful creature called Spartastupid, let's see if you have real leadership and get yourself out of this hole. Hint: Be the GM you say you are, independent of someone elses thought and control and start your own guild with your own name (yes, show your guildies you have some originality) and give them some direction. I myself will never apologize or defend for someone elses stupidy.

Me personally, I cant comment on your particular situation. I was unaware of what happened to you, and unfortunately your attitude towards crux is severely effected by it. Although in a couple places in my posts(multiple posts) i have defended spartacus and stated hes a decent guild leader, in personal conversations with him i also believe he will be a decent vanarch. As will I.

If you are indeed a retired soldier, then you will also know that in large groups, sometimes things slip through the cracks. When you have 700+ members, usually 400 active throughout the day, things can slip by. Spart took the time to ask you what happened, and something in me tells me based on your obvious Butt-hurt approach to this topic, that you probably didn't reply with a simple "I got kicked and don't know why!" because anyone with any sense can see that your entire post is nothing but a targeted flame at spartacus, myself and crux.

Now I've turned the other cheek, throughout this entire thread, trying to be the bigger man, I've admitted that spartacus may have approached politics in an unfavorable light, although i see nothing wrong with it, it is a political system isnt it? ME , I would have probably done it differently. I plan to run an Event on saturday on noob isle, hang out with the new guys on the block, have some fun, because that is where i am running for. But thats me, and my way, spart has a different way.

But im tired of sitting idle and watching people like you come into the forums and spout off your advice, even if small tidbits of it are legitimate, and wrap that advice up in a 90% hatred butt-hurt post bashing me also. When people were bashing spartacus, i felt he might have deserved it a little, But I have done absolutely nothing wrong to anyone, other than say a few nice things about spartacus, and you come in here and tell me how stupid I am.

I have not listed, in any single post, ANY political ideas that I plan to employ for my vanarch position. so please try reading the posts, other than snipping 2 sentences that meet the criteria for your rant, of the 80 or so sentences that ive posted in here, and maybe your opinion will come out as more than a butt-hurt reply that is enfolded in your removal from the guild.

After rereading your post, I'm kind of glad he didnt solve your problem, because you seem to me to be on the fence as a guild drama queen anyways.. "they kicked me, its so unfair, spartacus didn't defend me" so I'm going to go onto the forums and bash not only him, but his assistant Gm's and his whole guild..... find better use of your time man.

with that said, im sick of this thread, we still have well over 700 members all active. so we are doing something right. Our guildies, as far as i know, and I'm VERY active with them all, are happy, enjoying themselves and having a good time when on. And as far as I truly care, thats what matters.

I would love to wipe the social network clean of all this crap, but unfortunately I cant. It's out here, it's going to stay out here, and people are going to feel the need to come rant at times, so from now on im not even looking at this thread, so knock yourselves out! and I suggest all of crux does the same! there are always going to be people who feel abused, I dont know the TRUE story behind your removal, but if your part was truely so innocent, I cant see why you'd come here with such hatred for spartacus, i mean all he did to you (by your own statement) was not reply back and reinvite you. and you hold that much hatred for him....please, get real man... as a leader, you need to learn to follow my example and turn the other cheek....

Sorry mate, I'm slow to anger but when I am, I feel I am justified in my "butthurt" rants. I replied exactly to spartacus as I said. Having said that and basically being called a liar, you have lost my respect as well. I need to say nothing more to you in my defense.

Politics 101 for idiots - go read "The Prince" by Machiavelli. He details just how cutthroat leadership is but also explains how you must keep a persistent face of goodwill to the masses.

MasterPo you honestly deserve better than Crux.

You have dedication, and I respect that.

But Crux is a sinking ship, don't let your reputation be tarnished because of mere association with Spartacus.

Make your own guild with a few ex-Crux and show everyone how a guild should REALLY be run.

i realize i said goodbye to this thread but i wanted to leave it with a few facts, and thank those who support us still throughout all of this smear campaign, so again, to those people, thanks kindly for seeing through the smoke. hope to see you all in game!

@fancypants thanks for the vote of confidence, I realize my initial rep is taking a hit, but prior to all of the political scandal that hit us, i made many many friends here in crux, and even with the communities outcry against sparty, after many hours of conversation, and well, i guess you might call it mentoring, he appears to be doing a lot better. My hope is that over the next few months, people will begin to realize this, and those he rubbed the wrong way will eventually let the animosity go and see that all crux is trying to do is play a game, interact with a great server community, and give a little back.

spartacus started out in a skeptical manner, but he is atleast taking solid advice from his other guildmasters, and growing by doing so. a LOT of what is being said is just grapevine hogwash. the real truth is, all that he did was piss off a few guildmasters by his awkward approach to conversation. thats it. these guildmasters, then went on this rampant "Off with his head" campaign. only one person in all the posts, lists a single thing they account spartacus guilty of doing, (not reinviting him), and then turned to calling spartacus a multitude of embarrasing names etc.. so i really stand by him not reinviting this person myself!

Maybe I've let myself become like the captain of the CRUX ship, and am willing to go down with it IF that ever happens, I don't know tbh, but i care about these guys, which is evident in my posts, and would be severely happy if this all just went away. But i also know that in an online community, it never does, because people can hide behind their anonymity, and scream to the rooftops whatever their mind so desires. and this is their right. I just hope the majority of the community realizes eventually that CRUX cares, and we are a thriveing guild of over 700 active members, and god willing, are not going anywhere.

of all the hype in calling us bad, saying bad things about us, etc.. we have YET to go on the offensive, other than to comment on posts made by others. so when you sit back and look at the REAL crux story, what exactly is pissing you off about us?? is it because spartacus told a few gm's he didnt really need their support but was willing to make an arrangement and they took offence to this? look at our numbers.. im not bragging, but with 700+ active votes for each of our vanarchs, he's not really lyeing is he. sure those vanarchs, if they could stop squabbling, might muster that many votes, if they took 5-6 guilds and worked it out, but it is very unlikely to happen. anyhow i dont want to further fuel this whole hoopla of a discussion so,

to those being supportive of crux overall, thanks kindly we appreciate it. to those not, that is your right, but please be constructive in your criticizms, list the things crux has done that offended you personally, how about someone lists a player name, instead of what sounds to be made up "a crux member was mean and did this and that, but i cant remember his name..." again be constructive, list a name so we can deal with the issue... but it wont happen, and why might you ask? because 90% of the complaints in this thread are simple bull malarky. they're posted by the members or gm's of the guilds responsible for the initial smear campaign against spartacus, and crux as a whole because they know they dont stand a chance if they vie for the same areas we do in the upcoming election. so heres their thoughts, "lets smear spartacus, smear crux, smear them as a whole so people will leave, then they wont have enough people to beat us."

problem is guys, there are a lot of people who like to back the underdog, and this is what youve made us out to be, regardless of our numbers. so in the end, we would like to thank you for assisting in filling our guild with new people, i'd say currently we invite a minimium of 15-20 people a day. and this is with very minimal advertising, so we appreciate your help,

If Spartacus has any shred of decency like you said, he would post on this topic and defend himself. MasterPo, would you be my friend so I can hide behind you when the going gets rough and have you do all my political work for me?

...and you don't see this but that is what it looks like on this entire thread, a bunch of people sticking up for Spartacus and you wonder why we think he has put mindless puppets in power to all the other crux guilds. You see, if we really didn't care about you or anyone else, there wouldn't be so much passion in this thread. You don't need to mentor him. He needs to grow a pair and fess up, apologize and learn to get along with people. As long as he hides behind you and keeps a low profile, he will always remain a Rectal Tuft of Pubic Hair to me.

Let's not forget guilt by association - it's a fact. If I join the Hells Angels, people with think I'm a biker dude with a talent for criminal activity. If I join Jenny Craig, people will think I'm trying to lose weight. If you are a member of Crux, we have a real fear of lies and deceit coming from anyone of the members. If Spartacus can't be a leader and say, "Hey, I was wrong but willing to make things right if you give me the chance," and keeps hiding behind you all, then our fears and suspicions are only reinforced.

Yes, I came across hard. Do you blame me? Just think though, if someone is willing to honestly put in the time to fix their mistakes then they will get an even stronger ally out of me. As it sits, I owe him and anything that is associated with him anything but my absolute worst. So, do the entire realm a favor and pass this on to RToPH if you really care about the server, it's people and an enjoyable gameplay experience. Until then, please stop defending someone who is, at this point, obviously not sorry or cares about anything but himself (even at the expense of his guildmates).
