Maybe for Arun. I can't really comment since I wasn't there. However, for S. Shara it was awhile after the last clue was given that the hider was found. I believe I was one of the first ones to reach the shrine after the final clue was given and I didn't see anyone else in the vicinity, which leads me to believe that people were not, in fact, already touring that area by the 3rd clue or even the second to last clue. Unfortunately, it still did come down to luck because even though the location had been narrowed down it was still a matter of riding around aimlessly until you essentially lucked upon the hider.
At any rate, I apologize again if my criticisms have come across as negative. It's actually part of my job to be the designated fault-finder/troubleshooter and that often carries over into every other aspect of my life, even unofficial contests in video games. :P
You're absolutely right though, it's your contest and you can execute it as you see fit. I just got carried away thinking about it more in terms of a crime show where you try to figure out whodunit before they actually tell you. That's the most enjoyable part for me and what I personally felt was missing from the contest with the exception of N. Shara. Like I said, if your goal was for people to not find the hiders until the final clues then you were successful. I guess I was just expecting something else.
Hopefully no hard feelings. If anything, maybe I'll challenge myself to design my own server event that people can love or hate on as they like. ;D
Maybe if no one was able to find them, I could agree with you. But once we got down to the last clue, they had. Actually, by the time the clues got down to the 3rd clue, most people were in the area the hiders were located in. We made the clues specifically because we didn't want people to just get lucky.
