Nice layout of everything so you can see. One point I keep making when talking to people, and I wish En Masse would do this, would be to change the noble clerics. All they do is provide a 3 min +20 out of combat speed buff. I have tested it numerous times and it is hardly noticeable. I wish they would change it to be a more useful feature, such as healing your HP to full as well as recharging your stamina. I have not enabled the noble clerics in my zone since I would rather put the points in keeping the broker, specialty vendor, and trainers open as far in advance as possible in case something happens and I am not able to log on for a couple days.
The cleric is one thing that I almost didn't bother with because the difference is not really that important as you say, and I agree that a heal would be great considering we use them most often after wipes in instances.
Where is this pattern? Empyrean Divine - 4-4.5% - everything open. Arbitrator - 5% taxes - everything open. Here We Divide - 4.5% - everything open. Fairy Tail is the exception for reasons that have been beaten like a dead horse... Sora isn't coming back and the zone just has to wait for elections to bring someone else in.
I am content as long as vanarchs can keep all the merchants and trainers open. Taxes hasn't hurt since everyone has kept them at or below the default amount that was in before vanarchs got into office. When paying for a 2-gold restoration fee, an extra 10-silver 5% tax is hardly noticeable.
Some of you are being too lenient with the Vanarch guilds.
These guilds GET A LOT OF PERKS. The Vanarch himself gets A LOT OF MONEY.
Anything over 2% taxes is not acceptable. 100% completely unacceptable in my opinion. I personally feel it should be 1%, but I can understand that 2% does help a little more, especially in the beginning of this. It should move towards 1% in the future, though.
All the vendors should be up. The clerics are important for deaths, and getting your stamina back to full a lot faster than otherwise. Do you want to wait around, making your group wait, too, or do you want to go buy up your stamina and get back to what you were doing immediately? This is what they are important.
Also, besides that, it's not about what is or isn't important, per se, it's about appealing to as many people as possible.
Basically what I'm saying is that the Vanarchs have a responsibility to the server to do their job, and if they aren't doing it, then there's no reason to vote for them. This responsibility, in terms of the political system in this game, is simple. Low taxes because they get 100% of the profits of them, and keeping all the vendors up.
This isn't a lot to ask, guys. It's especially not a lot to ask considering the sweet mounts the ENTIRE VANARCH GUILD gets, plus other neat stuff.
@Hauster - 5% tax is hardly noticeable to you, sure, but imagine how much the Vanarch is making by having 5% tax applied for everyone that buys something in that zone? And that's why 5% tax is ridiculous. Anyone who puts 5% taxes is basically stealing your money, and you're perfectly alright with this.
I don't plan to lower taxes, but I also don't plan to run again.
The max I've collected so far is 86g, that was the good night. That means at that rate I'll claim a net loss of 1,200 gold and 100 Catharnach awards. Add to that the effort in farming Policy Points... Not interested :p
The people saying Vanarchs make all this money and the tax rates are too high... I sure hope the Vanarchs in other zones are cleaning house.
