Hi Fellow realm mates. I have been meaning to reserve the name KITHERA for my main on Celestial Hills as it has been my main for nearly 3 years and my name in all of Beta. I have many friends from other games that would be looking for me under that name on launch. However, it turns out the name is already taken. I understand the rules, but I would like to offer a chronoscroll (free month sub / can be sold for game gold) or the equivalent for the name.

another reason to play on a RP server. Notice Spellcatcher asked nicely and didnt go raging like the general discussion forums--just an observation. If i had the name i'd give it up to ya kithera--just because ya asked nicely :)
Another option maybe to try a variation of the name... like Cythera

Else you may use Kythera (which is almost the same and if ur using it by the Aphrodite's Island it's the actual greek name)

Very supportive and constructive ideas. Thank you all for helping her out. She was a bit late to getting to the early name reservation and was devastated when she learned it was taken. Thanks for supporting her.
Sadly, my preferred name was also taken, and I would offer a similar token to attain the name. But I am less attached to it than the OP is to hers, because my choice has no history. There, I think, is the rub. How common is the name? Likely pretty unique, and therefore more meaningful (mine was to be an historical reference with a nod towards a popular game franchise). Accepting variations would not seem viable, given that someone will be running around with the intended monicker.
In a way, though, providing money to the player who took the name justifies name camping, a feat used to either grief players or attempt to gain money from them, without the intention of actually using the name. I'd much rather change the name chosen (as I did) than try to aim to get that name. But that's for MY name. "Kithera" seems to be a lot more personal, and I wish Spellcatcher luck on getting it!
