I am pleased that this situation came to an amicable resolution. It is nice to see that the community here is top notch. I do wonder if that has a lot to do with En Masse pledging to actually enforce a certain level of discipline specifically for this server.

Sadly, my preferred name was also taken, and I would offer a similar token to attain the name. But I am less attached to it than the OP is to hers, because my choice has no history. There, I think, is the rub. How common is the name? Likely pretty unique, and therefore more meaningful (mine was to be an historical reference with a nod towards a popular game franchise). Accepting variations would not seem viable, given that someone will be running around with the intended monicker.
Somehow your description makes me think that I have the name you considered...

My name was going to be Gilgamesh. I pegged on it as soon as I got CBT2 and preordered. (A relative and I were actually going to attempt a duo player set as Gilgamesh and Enkidu, with me as a Warrior to mimic the Final Fantasy depiction, often shown with many arms and many swords in hand(s).) My current preorder name was going to be my main, which I did not intend to play primarily on CH, but decided otherwise when I failed to get the name. I am ok with the outcome for the nonce.
If you do have the name, and are willing to trade, we can work something out, but I'm ok with the current set up.

I can say that I was not the one to snag Gilgamesh. I am Uther, historically the father of King Arthur though it is the name of a major character in Warcraft as well. Hence my wonderment if I had the name you were after.
