Roleplayers of Celestial Hills Do you play a different gender then you are in real life? If yes, what is the reason?

I play both male and female characters. If they're pretty, I'll play them. If my character isn't pretty, I am unhappy. Probably some psychological stuff about how I feel inadequate in real life so I play beautiful characters in games or something, but at the end of the day I just like having a pretty character. :P

I'm a girl, and I always play as girls.
My boyfriend plays as girls in most games as well (unless I force him to be a guy so our characters can do embrace features. Lol). He has just always picked the girl character in games though, even when he was 5 and 6 years old playing random fighter games on his Nintendo. Lol. He really doesn't know the reason behind it; it's just how he is.

Girl here, play both male and female depending. I told this story in CBT but i played a male dwarf paladin in "another game" because i personally don't like how that game did female dwarfs. The idea to me is that i play what i feel fits the idea. It happens a lot now too.

Though, il admit. Female Amen now because god they look cool ^_^

I role play both males and females, but I will admit to playing the former more than the latter (I am male and mostly play males), so I can't really answer your second question very well.
When I do step into the role of female, it's to try something a bit different. Admittedly, I would assume playing a girl on a game (where gender is simply an aesthetic and they are assumed to be as viable as males and vice versa) is nothing like being one in the real world, both in and out of character.

I play both for the diversity of roles that choice offers me.

I'm a guy and I play female characters in any game where I have a choice. Been doing since I started playing Dungeons and Dragons. Something special and intriguing role playing a character of the opposite sex.
