Hi All, I'm a little curious about trying out this RP server and RP itself, But I have never RP'd before. Maybe a person or a small guild would like to help me? My IGN is Eurydice!
OMG I think you'd love to learn with us! Our leaders have been RPing for extensive periods, and several other members are new to RPing. Also, we have members that don't really RP a lot, and provide support for the growing community by doing what they can for RPer's.
We are small, collected, and eager to grow with a close community - not a rushed, heavy guild. We don't want 200+ members we never talk to. We develop close relations with EACH member, treating them as if they have been apart of the guild since the beginning.
Enjoy a laid back setting, with friendly players who love ALL aspects of the game. Learn the RP ropes through questions, events, and just casual RP moments.
http://envisageofnight.enjin.com/ - guild website, apply and be accepted
House of Satin Shadows - RP story-line, dedicated to serving the Empress through loyal militia. We are her toy soldiers.
Mature - viewer discretion i\s advised, a group of players who don't believe in censorship. enjoy crude humor, and flirtatious banter.
-Vent
-PvP
-PvE
-RP
Get a little taste of everything. Contact "Saranyth", "Shortcake" for characters. Search "Envisage of Night" and apply to the guild in-game. Or Apply Online at our website - and we'll find you.
If you've already found a home - our doors are always open if you change your mind.

I've never really RP'd in an MMO before, just pen n paper games and it definitely takes more effort here, there are tons of distractions. But I'm in the same boat. Here are some things that help me:
My advice is to make sure you have an idea of the lore; you don't need to be an expert but having a broad understanding of what's going on will help. Also, when you enter a new location in the game it helps to realize that when the game is designed, locations usually have a very specific purpose/conflict. Knowing what's happening around you and formulating an opinion/goal/position is important to interacting with people around you.
Make sure anything in your /say chat is in character; it doesn't seem area/a chat is often in character, so while I don't "Role play" when I speak in the area channel, I also try not to be contrary to my character; i.e. while a question in area chat might be about something unrelated to the game, if i'm inclinded to respond, i do so in such a way that it woudln't inadvertently change someone's perception of my character. Perception is reality and your peers aren't going to be able to disregard something inflamatory or important you stated in /area chat when it comes to talking to you "in character".
I find that with this it helps to play a character that is somewhat close to your own personality, at least when you're new. Once you learn the 'rules' through experince then you might try to play a character that is outside your comfort zone.
Anyhow if you see me in game as Krayl say hi and I'd be happy to figure it out with you!
