Proud to announce OFFICIAL information about the Summer Festival I am putting on! Originally it was a 3v3 Tourney but I have decided to throw in some other cool events and make this an all day blow out in velika! So come out and enjoy yourselfs!! Also, Special thanks to Aleister and Jerith from The Lion Order for the above picture! Thanks guys!

Summerfest 2012 is presented by and hosted by Arrafina!



Date: August 11th
Time: All Day starting at 12pm CST and Lasts till we get tired!!

Events: Jousting, Dueling, RPing, Fireworks!

PVP Event Details:

Jousting details to be provided by Dedrick who is heading up that event!

Dueling: For anyone there will be a small 1v1 Tourney and betting is welcome for participants AND the audiences! Will also take a pot for prize gold if enough people say that they want this.

A 3v3 Tournament will also be open to lvl 60`s only! Sign ups start now but the deadline is August 1st to have your team entered in! So hurry and sign up!

RPing: Obviously RP WILL be encouraged but not enforced. So If you want to RP a festival stall or want to trade your goodies at the fair please just let me know. My idea is to really get Velika into a Festival mood OOC and IC!

RP Lore- Celebration in honor of the Gods and Goddess, sometimes called the Divine Fathers or Mothers. Also, A celebration of the Summer Solstice.

Fireworks: I will launch them at the end of matches and also whatever I have left will be launched at the end of the day!

How this works is there will be a "quest giver" and he will give you a hint/clue for the next person that you need to find and talk to and so on and so forth. You will also have to escort a "Judge" with you on this quest! There will be teams of 4 and the "judge" This event is Sponsored, ran, and organized by The Lollipop Guild. if you have questions about this specific event please contact Alexia.Marvel , Kitty.Kat, or anstice!

Festival Itinerary(Subject to change):

All events go by Central Standard Time Zone!
12pmCST/1pm EST: Opening Ceremony (Consists of a short RP Speech by Arrafina to launch the event.)
1pm CST/ 2pm EST: 3v3 Tournament Starts/ Open RP Slot
2pm : Dedrick`s Jousting Tourney Starts/ Crafters Market
3pm: Beat The Champion
4pm: Mentorship (For those who have questions or problems with a quest or BAM) / RP Auction
6pm: Tournament Finals
7pm: "The Ghost Of Velika" themed RP Scavenger Hunt by Lollipop Guild w/ Irongsong and 3 other guilds.
8pm: Fireworks and Award Ceremony! (Time Depending on when the Scavenger Hunt ends)

To all lancers interested in jousting, the details for this event is as follows:

-There will be two types of phases: The power phase, and the accuracy phase.

-The power phase-
The two opponents would stand approx. 16m apart. A judge will count down; 3, 2, 1... GO! When the 'GO!' is said, both combatants will unleash their "onslaught" move. There will be three judges. The scoring by the judges will be based on who landed the most powerful and most number of hits out of the two. It will be a best two out of three rounds. If a combatant gets knocked over, the round automatically goes to the other. The judges will have to use their best judgement, however, their decisions WILL BE FINAL.


-The accuracy phase-
The two opponents would stand approx. 16m apart. A judge will count down; 3, 2, 1... GO! When the 'GO!' is said, both combatants will unleash their "charging lunge" move. There will again be three judges. Viewing from a bird's eye view of the camera, scoring will be based by the judges on how well they have aimed their lances squarely at the opponent's chest. Same rules apply. Best two out of three rounds, knock downs is an automatic win for that round and the judges' say so are final.

These will both be in a tournament style bracket. There will be level brackets in increments of ten. i.e.- 20-29, 30-39, ect.

Anyone can sign up for both phases if they wish. If you are interested in participating in this event, please let myself or Histarium(Arrafina) know. Prizes TBD. I hope you lancers come out here for some fun.

4 Weeks till the big event! Please spread the word! For those of you interested in the 1v1 Dueling tourney thats open to all levels. If you wish you can wait till the morning of the event to sign up. This is the VERY latest that I will let you turn in applications!

I find it rather funny that a forum about how there IS no RP on the server has more posts than this and its ABOUT how I want to organize an RP event...LOL Thats rather funny to me.

In all seriousness, For those of you planning on coming... However few that may or may not be, I am planning on hosting this regardless of turn out... I already called off work for that weekend xD So far reception hasnt been good. In fact ANY mention of a PVP event gets bad reception...

If you think "This doesnt fit my characters lore" ... well... I can make up a story or RP reason for the event itself. Could say we are celebrating in honor of the Titans!

Be proactive, maybe you what you really need is a lancer to get on board with you and run around challenging people. Or name a champion to pick fights for you. Just organizing a event with no background will be thin on the heavy rp'ers (I am not among them but they take it all quite seriously and I respect that)
They want a RP reason give them a RP reason.

Lancer jousting actually sounds mildly entertaining, I'm sure my mystic could show up for medical purposes, ...and to make people laugh.

If they want to engage in RP via RP, just play the game. :-)

Dear Arrafina,

The Amity guild are promoting this wonderful event internally at Amity guild site, and is encouraging people to join the RP and firework activities.

Based on the nature of our guild, I doubt any of us will attend the PvP or the jousting event.. but we'll do our best to be there and be supportive :)

Also, for everyone else, I will be hosting a warm-up/practice match event august 9th for the Jousting and PVP Tournaments. This will be when you can sign up, learn to joust, practice your tactics against your opponents, and if you just want some fun! Might also hold some matches as the date gets closer to choose a "champion" as this is the first annual Summerfest!

For RP purposes- A Celebration to honor the Gods and Goddesses. I would say that it is also a celebration for the birth of The Valkyon Federation but this doesnt fit my guild or my character lore at all. As a side note though I am leaving it as Summerfest for now because you can even RP that its to celebrate the Summer Solstice as a whole.

If this still doesnt not fit for the Heavy RPers then let me know and we can elaborate a better lore for the festival itself.

The Ironsong will be pleased to attend your Summer Festival. We would be willing to help provide security, if need be, but our numbers are small, and as such, would not be able to patrol the entire festival. If you've another use for our tribemates, we will consider this, as well.
