In 305, Vanarch Cristof Yaris purchased a large portion of land that would become the eastern section of Velika. A wealthy scholar from lands far, he found that education was the way to win wars - not physical strength. Thus, along with the establishment of the city military through support of the Valkyon Federation & the Mysterium, he created the Lyceum, an honored place of education and center for the arts in Velika. All races and creeds are welcome to study, however the college was founded primarily by a collaboration of affluent Humans, High Elves, Elin and Castanics - thus their symbols are on the shield.

In these hallowed halls people of all races and creeds come to learn about history, magic, warfare and the arts. Recent transgressions have forced the college to shift toward warfare and magic, but a great many scholars firmly believe that the arts will always carry weight, even in times of war. Students are encouraged to join one of the three divisions to work with like-minded individuals.

We invite all prospective students to enroll and contact a member of our faculty with their questions or interests. Though we are an established entity rich with tradition, we are not without an open mind. Many times students have forged entire new paths and built new structures of their own with the blessing of the college. As stated earlier, as long as you are interested in education and helping your common man, the Lyceum has a place for almost anyone.

The Lyceum of Velika is an education-centered heavy role-playing guild established on the Celestial Hills server. Rather than military ranks, our college features educational ranks, "faculty" rather than "officers", "students" rather than "members" and whatnot. Many of our planned events include classroom lectures and tours of our beautiful world, and our members are encouraged to form groups and dispatch foes together for progression grades and advancement in the college.

Roleplaying is encouraged at all times, especially on our forums which we intend to be the epicenter for stories and gatherings. We are a young guild, but we are firmly established with a solid core leadership that has the time and the attention to pay to our members.
