Hi, we're Something Terable, and we probably haven't met. And that's our fault.
There's a lot of misinformation in-game about what we are and aren't, so we'd like to take the opportunity to let you know a bit about Something Terable. We keep a low profile in-game and on these forums because we're a low stress, low drama kind of guild. When it comes to both our guild and the rest of the community at large, our mantra is basically "have fun, and play the game how you want to play it." And we wouldn't have it any other way. On behalf of Something Terable and our GM, Girl, I'd like to take a moment to formally introduce our guild to the Dragonfall community.
Our guild originates from the Something Awful forums, a community of nearly 165,000 members, but our membership includes a wide variety of SA members as well as non-members, hailing from all across the globe.
Perhaps you've come across Something Awful guilds in other games, and your experiences playing with them are likely quite varied. Each one of our gaming guilds is unique, and Something Terable has nothing in common with any of these other guilds, aside from the fact that we all have a membership to the same internet community. Some of these guilds have reputations as "troll guilds" and/or actively seek to impact the gaming community in a less than positive manner, for their own gain. Something Terable is NOT this sort of guild. Sure, we have an off-beat sense of humor, but we're really just a guild like any other -- we're friendly and laid back, and we hope to have a positive impact on the Dragonfall community.
There has been a rumor going around that Something Terable is a "hardcore zerg guild" (what does that even mean???). Yes, we have some members who enjoy aggressively pursuing endgame content; that's how they want to play the game, and we're totally cool with that. But we're a very large guild, and we also have many more casual players, pursuing their own goals at their own speed -- whether it be crafting supremacy, logging in a couple times a week to blow off some stress in a dungeon, or being the source of delicious comedy in guild chat while they hopelessly battle the enchanting RNG boss.
Our only rule for the guild is to simply have fun, and that's a big reason why we have the largest population and the most praises on the server. We delight in having a healthy mix of player types and personalities, and we're always keen to make new friends and enrich the Dragonfall community in any way that we can. Our praises are evidence of the positive experience that many of you have had with our guild, and we're excited that we can soon trade these praises for policy points, to offer more Vanarch-related benefits to the community than any other guild on the server.
If you ever have any questions whatsoever, please don't hesitate to contact our GM, Girl, and she'll be quite excited to meet, greet and talk about whatever is on your mind. Seriously, don't hesitate, she's more than happy to let one of her group members die in a dungeon for the sake of good conversation! :P
And if you're looking for a guild, give us a shout -- we're always working to enrich our ranks with like-minded individuals who are looking to have a good time in TERA.
Of course, we'd be delighted to have you vote for Girl for Vanarch during the current election. She's uniquely positioned to do some pretty awesome things for the server, and we can't wait to bring these plans to fruition if she wins Ostgarath. But even if you don't vote for her, we're still on your side, and we'd love to get to know each and every one of you on Dragonfall.
Have fun, and don't believe the hype -- get to know us for yourselves.
