Taxes jumping up

Why would Knights of Velika want to raise their taxes so high when they are up for re-election? Just because you are almost surely going to get a spot doesn't mean you should bleed the masses of your former province.

just so you know KoV is in your political alliance apparently so ask amongst yourselves why they do that or even better "why they did it for their entire vanarchy term"

I know I had fun avoiding pathfinder post for the past 3 weeks of election.

It has been stated many times that the political alliance doesn't share expressed views across guilds, some of the guilds inside that alliance don't even like each other. The only reason they're in the alliance is to obtain vanarchy. It's purely for the votes. This isn't an alliance decision/issue, this is a decision by the guild only. So perhaps we can refrain from making this thread about alliances, there's clearly enough out there already.

I agree, the whole alliance bashing thing is getting to be a sad, tired song. I'm specifically asking about tax rates that I just saw today that are set to 3.5 - 3.9. in Val Tirkai. The flight tax is the only thing set to 1%. I don't check them regularly but I don't believe it was like that before.

Yeah i'm not bashing alliances (since my guild is apparently in one) since theres been quite the drama around it so I am also avoiding it as well (or at least try to with a smile).

It's just that will we see KoV always racking up taxes on all the zones yet again (Especially since they placed vanarchy in Arun with new players coming in) and that nobody is gonna stop them because they are guaranteed to have all these votes and no other guild will be able to even pass them in the next election as well as the one after?

Frankly, I voted for who I wanted to even though it wasn't our official guild choice. People are not going to continue to support a guild that is not managing their province well.

I was vainly hoping someone from KoV would answer my question why they decided to make their taxes so high even in the face of negative feedback from the whole Dragonfall community. The bottom line is that no alliance is making decisions for the individual guilds. The GM is the one with their hand on the switch and the members are the ones voting.
It doesn't make sense. What future can there be in throwing players' wishes out the window?

vok has had high taxes for rakada's whole term. rak has put most of this gold in his pocket. he promised the realm he would hold an event and give 20k+ back to the realm in prizes- and said this was the reason he set taxes so high. but he lied. and now he will do it again.

the reason people grumble about the alliance- is because you are holding rakada up. as long as the guilds in your alliance vote for him, you are as guilty as he is. just sayin.

@sirah actually as an alliance, the aza decided that together we would all make our taxes 1%. it is kind of a requirement to be in our alliance.

Also, someone correct me if I am wrong, but I heard the KoV GM took 50k g out of their gb and gquit to join passion. Just a rumor I heard but if it is true it would explain a lot

That gquit thing is totally a rumor. At least for the "rakada" character. Ran into him in-game recently and he's still in KoV.

And the val tirkai tax has been at ~3-4% the entire term.
