With the game releasing very soon and the start of the political system, it is time we look around at the huge guilds that do nothing more but recruit mass amounts of people so that their GMs over inflated ego can further be over valued. Do we let these over rated guilds take control of our realm or do we unite together and support each other, making sure we keep Dragonfall a server which we can be proud of. I say we combine our efforts, share the realm with each other and show these bigger guilds it is not about the size of the roster, but the quality of the people in them.
It is time we make Alliances with each other in order to protect the future of the realm we spend so much time on.
That's not a nice way to portrait us bigger guilds....
While, the bashing could have been toned down a bit, it is quite the accurate portrayal of larger guilds. I see we don't mince words.
I do like the idea of smaller guilds banding together though. Did you have any type of clear layout for this to progress, or is this just a flowing idea at the current time?
From my experience people in big guilds get lost in the cracks.. People forms groups and new comers are often left out of raids and rarely get help from their guild.. people will realize their mistakes in joining a big popular guild.. they'll find their way to a different guild because of this. So in other words don't stress it to much. If theirs no foundation in a guild it will not last I guarantee their will be a lot less guilds in a month..
Excuse the long post;
There will always be an underlying animosity towards larger guild. I mean who doesn’t love rooting for the underdog (smaller guilds being the underdog)? Generally speaking one would assume larger guilds collectively contain a majority of the server population but this in actual fact is contradictory. In most cases larger guilds are actually a very small percentage of the server population and hence are generally easy prey by the population at hand. I would say most of the guilded population itself is contained with medium size guilds 30-90ish members (give or take a few).
With that said and coming from someone who use to manage a guild with over +300 members on multiple games, do not discount the agility of larger guild a quick flex of a muscle and they can do in hours/days what would take smaller guilds weeks. The question is getting them to flex that muscle in the first place. I should also note “All Empires Fallâ€, this is extremely true and the larger they get the more susceptible they become to inner politics, with such numbers comes great power and 299 other individuals will all want their piece of the pie and we all know, with power comes greed. ïŠ
For all the MMO’s I’ve played and guilds I’ve seen as a matter of personal opinion if Dragonfall supports 100 territories or 100 guild houses I can almost guarantee it will be dominated by the 100 biggest guilds on this realm, you cannot deny the elephant in the room. Now with the cap set at 300 I can almost guarantee you’re going to see atleast a dozen guilds support that number and with over 50+ guilds cracking 100+ members maybe more. The war will be between titans with us smaller guilds watching the struggle in a safe distance. It is a lot easier to move and motivate 300 guild members than it is 10 guilds with 30 members each.
So in the case of Dragonfall to the “larger†victor go the spoils.
