~~ TL;DR at bottom ~~
So, it is not really AFKing that is the problem. The players are at their computers, but their computers cannot keep up with the mass load the game brings when they are around 40+ players, preforming abilities, 20 AoE Particles going off, Animations being spammed, and the list goes on.
So. A nexus can be done with a 10 man team. 5 if you can handle Phase 2. 15 if you want to be super safe. That is the minimum. If you cannot handle 15 people in 1 area doing a nexus. Its time for an upgrade to your computer. Sure, Nexus is boring. Other servers are downing them, but personally, I seriously don't give a flying fajita.
and before you go off saying "But I meet the minimum system requirements, I should be able to do everything I pay for!". If you're scraping by the minimum requirements, you should expect some huge performance hits, when you do certain things that has a huge load on your computer. So get an upgrade, or deal with it. You are the only one at fault there.
Also sharpie, I do not know how you expect low performance at a nexus event, to convey performance at BG's. They are 2 different things. But, that sort of discussion is beast left to a seprate thread.
A lot people are not AFKing at a nexus. They are mostly lagging due to old computer hardware. Upgrade, or GTFO.
