Lately, there has been a lot of discussion regarding the fate of our server. Many guilds and players have slowly been moving to other servers last few weeks and Fairy Tale, Lethality have announced their plan to move as well as other guilds. I honestly believe if there isn't a server merger anytime soon, we will all be effected by low population and players without a tight group will have trouble finding parties for instances. I implore everyone who is considering moving server to stay and do what you can to improve our server as much as you can.
I would like to make it perfectly clear that Tempest will not be jumping ship in search for greener pastures, and will continue to work with others and help as much people as possible. Feel free to contact any one of our members for assistance and I hope we can all work together to create a closer community.
I've also created a private channel that will be open to all players of Freeholds, please utilize it to seek help or advice, we will do the best we can to keep the channel open for everyone's benefit. Type /chat FH 1111 everytime you log on to enter the channel and ask for help anytime.
This happens on every new mmo...this too shall pass. Seen this happen on three other mmo's over the years. Great idea on the chat channel. Kudos!
Wonder how long before Dragonfall guilds shift over here? lol
I'm Freeholds for life.
I guess since they couldn't chase me away then I chased them away? Haha.. jk!
Seriously, though, it's going to boil down to how players want their game to be. If there are those who want a more populated server then they should probably find another. I wouldn't hold a grudge or think it's some sort of betrayal.
Running the Nexus is quite challenging though with so limited amount of players that show up. I wouldn't be happy with the server either if end gaming was my main focus.
The instance matching module of the game is a failure to many players who have had very long and thorough discussions about it in the General Comments area of the forums. So, the idea of having all server work as one for dungeons is not going to keep players on a low populated server as well.
I can see the advantages of finding a more populated server. However, I don't play enough of the game to really take advantage of end gaming with a highly populated server. I just log on enough to run through a few reputation dailes, some guild questing, and say hi to my friends.
So, ultimately, a player should do what is going to make their gaming experience more pleasant.
I'm having a hard time getting my head around why they would pick up the whole guild and move to another server. If the guild is good enough it should be self sufficient and not require outside resources to achieve objectives.
Instance matchmaking is cross server anyhow and for the most part is frubar 3/4 of the time you are really waiting on healers or lancers.
Either way...garbage in garbage out. Competition for gear and rewards is going to be more cut throat on a populated server. I suspect another factor will be auction house prices being higher on gear and items. It's not always greener pastures on the other side of the fence.
Oh well...hasn't really made me lose sleep. Just like a car crash on the side of the road I have to slow down and rubber neck to see wtf is going on. lol
Taking bets Dragonfall folks shift their guilds to Freeholds once they feel the impact of this. lol
I'm not sure why people are leaving. I've seen a large amount of new players and guilds coming to freeholds. I noticed today that our server population is at Medium. I think the reason the guilds left, that did leave, did not have the patience to wait for these new people joining the game to level to 60.
Viral aquired about 80 new members in the past week all of which were in the 5 - 15 level range and are now in the 20 - 45 level range since joining.
Freeholds is far from being dead, it's just a late bloomer. Hang around, we're doing ok.
Agreed...got to give it time. Moving your guild to another server was not the correct answer (imo)and seems to me you missed a good opportunity to promote your guilds as leaders of the server. Proving you can organzie and conquer end game material on your home server makes more sense to me rather than leaving to another server that has already figured it out correctly.
Guess the easy answer was to jump ship instead of facing the challenge head on.
