Tempest has an Announcement!

Who says Hard work does not pay off? It was announced last night that Unholy would relieve Godmocker as Guild Leader and Vanarch candidate in Tempest TERA. Godmocker stated in his forum post and discussed with Tempest leadership that his RL responsibilities were limiting his play time and that it would be best for the guild to have a more active player replace him as he finished his Master's Degree. Godmocker has been an outstanding leader in TERA, guiding the guild to be one of the top ranking guilds on the server and was our first Vanarch.

Unholy has been an active member since the launch of the game and has continuously demonstrated the leadership and personal skills expected of Tempest leaders. He is a presence in game, respected by our members, and numerous other guilds as well. I expect that his reign will be as fruitful as we work to make Tempest one of the most active guilds on the Frost Reach server.

We would like to personally thank Godmocker for the work he has done since last year in coordinating the effort and making us successful in TERA. His personal devotion to Tempest and the game has been exceptional. Thank you Mocker! Good luck with the thesis!

So in case you were wondering why we didnt do Vanarch this time around, we went through some changes. Unfortunately, those changes couldnt be made while GodMocker was the current Vanarch. Unholy officially took leadership last night and we are already looking forward to the next Vanarch election. We would like to thank all of Tempest's friend on the server who have supported us through the change. We are in good company on this server, and we can't wait to dive right back in!

Congratulations Unholy!!! Thanks Frost Reach for your support!

Hello there! I owe many people across the server for this. Thank you Hex and Godmocker most of all though! If anyone needs anything from tempest feel free to approach me in game.

Does this mean that fewer of Tempest's members will be [filtered]s now?

I apologize for Meadbh's response here.

IMO, Unholy is doing a great job with Tempest and means what he says about going to him about whatever the reason may be. I've had the pleasure of speaking with him in game and feel all guild leaders should be the type to be willing to work out any issues that come about in regards to their members.

Thank you, Unholy.

First of all, congrats Unholy, sounds like you all have a nice community going on.

Second, at the risk of going on a bit of a tangent... am I the only one who finds it eyebrow-raising that "negative" "call-outs" of players get locked within minutes, while call-outs such as these are allowed. I find nothing wrong with these types of posts and don't feel they should be tampered with under policy, but the current forum policy literally says something along the lines of "Posts shall not contain 'call-outs' of players or EME staff in title or body," which is terribly vague and not specific to only call-outs deemed negative by the moderation staff. It seems the way it is enforced is "you cannot criticize, evaluate negatively, or patronize anyone specifically, but self-promotion and over-embellished praising is encouraged."

Nothing that I will lose any sleep over, but it is irking me a bit as I sit here at 4 am.

I'm not from this server, but I thought I would answer the question in the post above me.

Negative call-outs, or something of that nature, are considered harassment to the players/community/company. While you may not like that you cannot call someone out by name for doing something bad, it's to protect players and the company.

Being encouraging and positive to people and the company is not frowned upon because it is considered nice. You are able to take praising of players or guilds, or the company as you wish, but showing positive attention to these things is a good thing.

There is generally more good then bad in these games, and if you have a problem with someone or something in the game, the best thing to do is bring it to the attention of the GMs. I don't see anything wrong with not being able to call people out about negative things, but being encouraging of others should be allowed.

Logic is not something lost upon me. I realize what you are saying, as well as share the sentiment, my complain is that the written forum policy guidelines do not show the proper amount of clarity. Protection shouldn't be a concern until the line between maliciously calling someone out and letting the community know of those who are ill-contributors to the game experience is crossed.

The policy shouldn't be "do not call-out players or EME staff," it should be something more along the lines of "Harassment will not be tolerated... including but not limited to calling out individuals for policy abuse publicly etc."

This really isn't the place and I am over it. You can have your thread back.

Specifically naming a player, or a group of players, is always frowned upon because no matter how much of an arsehole they are, and how much Karma should bite them, naming someone on the forum for a misdeed they have done is considered harassment due to how much players will want to avoid that person. When everyone wants to avoid you, it is pretty game-breaking for that person, and almost always ends bad.

There has been cases in the past where people have been called out on one single experience they had. It could have been a bad time for the person and they probably lost it at the time due to stress. People call that out, and now no one would want to group with the person due to that single experience.

As it should be. I don't want to be hanging around a loose cannon that could turn into a retard at any given second. I want to be around people who can control themselves and give others the same amount of respect and courteousness they themselves would like to be treated with. The internet needs more repercussions, it's so filled with stupidity because there basically are none already, then tag this candy arsed policy on and we have double anonymity. So I keep this up and refreshed often and between it and LFG sorting out the rest of the idiots (it's not a free chat channel you needy goons) I do the best I can to keep my blacklist growing.
