I wish Tera had a reason to "explore" such as Rift did, with finding hidden collectibles and such

Sorry, I couldn't resist.

"Staged Invasions: Nexuses amp up the action in three stages, each with its own monsters, quests, and rewards."

Tera is all about action combat. Exploring is the opposite of that. If you want to play Jacques Cousteau and waste time going on easter egg hunts, this MMO is not for you.

Ok, I couldn't finish typing that with a straight face. In reality I would love to see more rewards added for exploring as well. I just figured I'd give you the typical rabid fan response first. ;)

I'd say the world is more than worth exploring...

...and as soon as I figure out how to post an image, I'll show you why.

May not be a good idea. From what I've seen, the game world uses old-fashioned closed sector zones. Climb that mountain? Don't look down, because they didn't expect you to get up there, and there will be some pretty ugly stuff or voids.

I doubt they will encourage exploration in this state.

It's something that could be added, or made part of server events. I was a little disappointed at the lack of surprises to be found when peeking behind barns or climbing up places. I don't need stuff to loot, I'd be happy with a little something cool to look at that you only see when you visit a remote location.

if you really, TRULY enjoy exploring, then exploring becomes its own reward.

if you put in-game rewards tied to exploring, then people that DON'T like to explore feel like they HAVE to explore.

As it stands right now, you can have fun exploring, IF you find exploring fun. There's nothing wrong with this.

I really hate how people seem to think that EVERY SINGLE THING they do, whether the game developers intended for them to do it or not, should be rewarded. If you want to do it, there's nothing stopping you from doing it...but expecting to get cookies for doing what you like is just the embodiment of self entitlement and/or being spoiled.
