Hi all!
Its a joke? Why did they put ranged class in the game if on full range the dmg is lower and in melee i do the most dmg with my archer... its just really big bs, since players choose ranged class to avoid melee hits and aoe, bt if i have to be in close range with leather armor (even if i can dodge ofc) 1 aoe from a raid boss can kill easily... think someone should think about it.
Or just look at it, as you deal full damage at range, and get bonus's closer up. logic. Point blank arrow. Hurts more. Nobody said you have to spam it. and leathers better than cloth. XD
Or just move away from the boss when it AoEs... like you are supposed to do.
L2Kite. Melee have to do it, Ranged should have to do it. The reason you do more damage to targets in Melee ranged is so that if the boss/enemy gets closer, you hit harder as a chance to kill it faster. However, in case you haven't noticed, the whole concept of the tactic system in this game isn't how much damage you can do while standing still, it required you to know what your skills are and use them, even your avoidance/evasion/mitigation skills. Also the reason you have a strafe key setup and not a turn key setup is so that as a live action response, you can navigate yourself around the mob while still facing it instead of having to continually turn your back to it when it is closer..
Again I state. Learn to Kite.
Interesting, but the way I see it, it keeps the ranged class from being a no good sniper and keeps them engaged in a fight. Also, I feel the design is you may do "less" damage at range, but you are safer and have a tactical advantage. However you still remain deadly in close quarters.
Unless your a sorc ofc, then your a no good sniper. Cause majority of your useful skills target too far away to even TRY to stand close. XD
Only archer is like that. It makes sense IRL. If you are up close, there are less variables like wind drag and accuracy. Therefore, you do bonus/full damage up close. Archers can be one of the biggest number makers in single shots if they are close. They are average if farther away.
