If I am wrong, just tell me so, but I do not remember seeing anywhere a mention that the beta test would only consists of PvE testing.

While I assume this might be the case, I find it odd that no PvP server was included so that something as promising as action based PvP in an open world could be tested some as well.

When I logged in, both servers listed were listed as offline. Now I guess it is quite possibly they have plans for other servers for this weekend test that are just not available yet, but it worries me that open world PvP is not being tested publicly at this point in the game either.

I have recently seen in other games where their open world PvP was not able to be tested early enough and it led to other problems, on the other hand, it could all be find and dandy as well.

2 Servers listed atm doesn't mean 2 at Cb1. If It Is the case though I would think 1 would have the Westernized Pvp ruleset to test.

Can I see a screenshot of the 2 servers? o:

I did a search and the only other thread was related to the fact that there were only 2 servers and they were worried this would not be enough for the load. Considering this topic is specifically regarding the servers being PvE or PvP, it is a different topic.

It wouldn't surprise me if there wasn't a PvP server. This is the first closed beta, I doubt they would have everything available right away.

This is only the first test. Perhaps they don't want to test the open world pvp right away, and are looking for something else to start with? No need to start panicking. Just let EME handle everything, because I'm sure they have a fairly decent set of plans for all the testing to be done.

MAKE SURE YOU ROLL ON THE COOL KID SERVER!

Btw just cause its "PvE" doesn't mean you cannot duel. Remember its the first closed beta and you wont even hit the appropriate level needed to actually partake in open world PvP or BG's.
