Add a "Buy" option to the Auction House, please

It would work in the same manner as selling, except you select the item you want to buy, list the price you want to pay for it and post it.

This would be a great way to gauge demand that isn't being met, as players could easily see what's being listed to BUY and know immediately how much demand there is for that item and then go either gather or craft whatever it is people are looking for.

I'm not sure I understand what your proposing. Would this be a feature that is similar to what pet shops do in which they buy things for you while your out and about doing other things? Something of a middle ground to compensate for the lost feature from the pet shops?

I believe he wants a TAB Option where people can put up "WTB Ads" to compensate for the lost of the petshop being the staple for buying from people items the player doesn't have.

I agree with this, and it needs to be in the broker... Not just "WTS" Ads

I am all for this idea. Would bring another layer of depth to the broker and IMO would help make the loss of pets a lesser blow to some.

Exactly.

I mean, imagine browsing the WTB ads and seeing that someone is willing to pay a PILE of cash for (insert material X here). I'd go out and farm up a huge pile of it.

It'd be a great way for players to make money, as there may be periods where none of said material is ON the AH, but there are lots of people WANTING it, they just have no visibility right now so no one KNOWS they want it without paying close attention to trade channels (which I turn off due to spam, personally).

This would be a fantastic thing to implement to the Auction House.

It would benefit as it would reduce the "WTB/WTS" spam in chat. It would also benefit folks who are crafting as their items may be a bit more valuable and easier to sell.

I like it. +1

Yeah, up until now, we really haven't had a "want ad" section in any game that I can think of, aside from what may be a very spammy trade chat.

I think it'd be awesome to be trying to meet demand as it shows up on the broker. Would feel like you're going on "missions" for a client who wants something very specific, and I like that a lot...

I posted this suggestion before....

Closes game with a "Buy/Sell Option" is eve-online. I love there market design I wish they brought it to TERA Online

Whats even more awesome is they have graphs to show the trend on "X" item

But we really don't need all that just a simple tab to where we can post items we want to buy... Quantity and our price in which will buy it for.

This game and any MMO would be lucky to have as robust a market system as EVE online. Also the graphs are easy. Once all the foundation is there throwing in something that does up the graphs based on all the raw data that's already floating around is icing on the cake (and tasty icing at that).

Of course putting in graphs leads to the fringe crazies coming out of the woodwork with their "anti price history" signs...

Buy orders are the next step already taken by EVE. This game would do well to get with the times if they can... The groundwork is easier said than done I'm sure.

If they add something along those lines, there certainly would be an alleviation to the anger some players have felt over losing the pet shops. It doesn't solve the convenience of having a pet shop near a dungeon to supply items for players. But doing things for the sake of convenience can lead us down a slippery road of laziness.

This is a feature I could definitely live with.
