After 52, it is a nightmare to level.

You run out of quests, period. The mobs become so inflated with HP it's ridiculous. Also, the fact that if you're 52 and fighting a 53 mob (just 1 level difference) you will have far lower crit % and damage on that mob. Because of this you'll have to backtrack to lower zones and do repeatables or farm BAMs for hours on end to catch your character up to the next zone's level for smoother quest completion and leveling. The game just runs out of quests far too fast in this part of the leveling process.

I had to go back to Dragonfall at 53 and do over 31,000,000 xp in repeatables, bams, and just straight-up GRIND just to go to the 54 zone Val Elin~ because of the fear of running into this same problem in THAT zone if I didn't.

I really didn't think this game was a grind until I got to this point. It is like the AION level 35 brick wall all over again.

I don't mind difficulty. This isn't difficulty, it is a huge state of tedium. Give me difficulty in the instances, in PVP, in end bosses of quest lines. But don't make me suffer endlessly just to progress.

It's not that you run out of quests. You need to go get them. When you go into a new map, take every quest you can in the town, then go do them. Do not skip quests, only ones you can skip are BAMs.

Once you complete certain ones, others get unlocked, and some quests point you to the next camp in a zone.

I'm up to lv 56 now, and had no trouble finding quests, the only issue is mobs starting in Val Elenium get a lot stronger. Even at 56 with new skills and a new weapon, they still take time to kill.

I just have to warn you... you compared this game hits a grind like in Aion. Prepare for a lot of hate. :P

Yet to really have this problem. Never run out of quests either. Currently lvl 56 and taking my time. You do know the main story line does not lead you to every quest hub. It may get ya close to them but they don't hold your hand.

So no, not run in to any grind what so ever so far, And lvl 52+ is not a nightmare.

This is surprising? It's an Asian grinder... that's exactly how these games are designed. The fun isn't in the playing... it's in outgrinding the next guy. Not a huge market for that type of thing in the West but they eat up in Asia.

Anyway... you didn't buy this game for the long-term... play it for a couple of weeks - enjoy the combat, etc.. (don't subscribe) then put it down and go play Diablo 3 or try out Secret World and the next GW2 beta.

Don't stress... it's just an MMO. Enjoy what you can, then move on... there is a lot more on the way!

~ALL~ MMOs are "grindy." The trick is in how they hide the grind from you.

Korean MMOs are notoriously "grindy" and don't hide it well. Tera is not at all typical in this regard,

My guess is that you're missing quest hubs and NPCs. There's tons tucked away in nooks and crannies.
