This is my second thread regarding this. No, I don't expect it to be changed at this point. I do however hope to inform, and give prospective future designers (such as myself) some insight into the matter to make it "properly".

Got an article sent to me because of someone being fed up with the Ragnarok Online armor, and it just happened to mention TERA too (and how couldn't it, what with all the scantalous armors the "plate" females have) so I thought I would share it with you fine fellows here.

Edit- So for all of you future designers out there, be it real life or in game, take the suggestions of this person; a real modern day armorer, and make sure that the armor is practical.

you can take your practical and shove it where the sun dont shine.

i get [filtered] loads of practical in the real world.

i come here for the fiction and the fantasy.

it makes the game fantastic.

I don't really understand why anyone has a problem with Fantasy armor in a Fantasy game.

Tera strives to be fantasy - most things they do are impossible and not practical.

Plus lets just making this a "female character issues." Have you seen some of the armor the guys wear in games? Some of it so bulky and big there is no way they can move in it.

But here is the kicker the game is a fantasy game so there is Nothing wrong nor with allow the artist go crazy.

Now if your striving to be me realistic like oh lets say Mortal or UO, yes I would much rather see more realistic armor.

But still people need to get over it, Bikini plate mail and Rock Solid Omgod look at those shoulder pads are not going anywhere soon!

This stuff is silly, in my opinion. It's a game, it's rated M. It's just tradition in many games for women to have armor that provides no literal protection against attacks. It's part of the marketing and sales of the game. Sex sells. That'll never change. As long as the revealing armor draws in more players, games will keep it involved unless it is a truly hardcore game, such as Dark Souls, which properly equips the female character model the player can use. I, as an avid gamer, don't really mind if games continue to include skimpy female armor or not, just don't mess with the actual gameplay, hahah XD

its a preference issue dressed with the mask of practicality and morality.

real world applications need to be practical, fantasy worlds applications do not.

its pointless to connect the two so strongly and limit yourself but many do. offended by DESIGN choices and styles they don't agree with and try to explain.

the result is a mess of people constantly pushing for "practical" in a world were you ride Pegasus and shot fire from your hands at massive monsters......

the thing that's really fantastic is that they dont see how stupid it all really is.

I keep waiting for the game where all the characters are nude and the armor is an invisible force that protects you...

What a wonderful MMO that would be.

Anyhow, I dont really care one way or the other. In games, everything is just an object.

Some people don't understand the Fantasy word in fantasy MMOs.
