Anyone else feel like these forums go unread?

I don't know why but I get this feeling that the developers listen very little to any of the issues or complaints players have with this game, especially more so than other games and developers. The forums are filled with people voicing concerns of complaints, some of which are very valid, and nothing is ever commented on and eventually the thread dies. Maybe it's just the layout of these forums, I dislike it and they aren't very good for giving and getting information. Is there a way to see which threads developers are posting in?

Whoa, now. Don't you worry, I'm sure they're hiring additional staff to take dictation on your game ideas.

Why do you waste your time posting? I hardly ever post here myself, so I'm not sure why you're jumping to the conclusion that I'm trying to tell them what to do. Other players however have posted some great ideas, and others have posted very valid concerns about the issues the game has.

Considering this is an MMO and you pay a subscription fee, it's generally helpful if the developers post their plans so the paying players can decide if they like the direction the game is heading or not. I personally don't see myself playing this game more than a month, maybe two unless a few things are changed. With most games I can browse their forums and read up on the changes that are planned, on this forum I get people like you who contribute nothing and waste everyone's time.

90% of MMO's do this. As soon as the game is launched, the only communication each week is confirming that the game just went down for maintenance.

Might have to do with them having all of 100 or so employees who are most likely still swamped trying to answer support tickets and fix billing issues. It's just the end of the first week.

Well, 2 hours ago they posted on Facebook saying maint is delayed by 24 hours. Fairly important info.

Where is it on the forums?

Server Status subsection, where you'd expect that sort of information to go.

OP

As someone who has had the pleasure of being a part of the TERA community for over two years, I can tell you with confidence that they do indeed read the forums, and do indeed listen to the suggestions that players make. Fortunately, while some are taken into consideration, a majority are merely just listened to. We don't know nearly as much about the game, the future plans, the content under development, the limitations, etc as they do.

We do know, however, that they are very aware of what is being discussed on the forums, and while they don't always actively participate in conversations - the information is sent to various people who need to know it. That's actually part of Minea's job as the Community Manager. It's a mostly thankless task, so next time you see her posting, thank her. Or send her a PM.
