Anyone see todays Penny Arcade comic?

It is hilarious because it is true.

SWTOR has a much better, more involved story than Tera. Following the quests in Tera is almost painfully boring.

GW2, has an amazing Dynamic Events for quests that brings quest to life (a.k.a. you actually see centaurs attack a village and you can participate in its rescue -- As opposed to Tera where mobs just hang around, waiting to be killed)

Tera has amazing combat and is actually fun to play. Much better than GW2 and SWTOR.

I think Penny Arcade hit the nail in the head for this comic. We need a game with the fun combat of Tera, the involed story of SWTOR and the alive world of GW2. THAT WOULD BE THE PERFECT MMO :)

Sad thing is, THIS game could have been that. Throughout development we have begged the dev team to make needed improvements to questing. We have begged them to try and make the game world feel more alive (isn't it sadly ironic that all their Tera videos always showcase this living, breathing world with NPCs *doing things*, but the game world itself is so cold and sterile?).

None of this should be a surprise. We told them what Tera needed to do to be "the perfect MMO". It didn't happen. And far too many players blocked the efforts of others who were trying to improve this game, with their mindless chanting that Tera's action combat is all the game needs to be a success. So narrow minded.

No, the community here told Enmasse that while they were _localizing_ the game for NA. The game has already been out for over a year in Korea which would make such sweeping changes impossible to do.

If you listen to EME spin it, they did a whole lot more than localize the game. Although, half the changes seemed to be things most of the community didn't even want or understand. You can't have it both ways - either the year+ they spent westernizing the game was all wasted on translating, or they were changing the game to appeal to a western audience. Which is it? They claim the latter. Unfortunately it doesn't really show.

star wars the old republic was a terrible mistake and from a fiction perspective its an abomination to the franchise 1 lone random jedi kills and immortal sith god that absorbed the force power of entire plant filled with sith lords lol k that is beyond pushing it even from a fiction stand point

They should have made it an Elin! D: Not castanielf

I actaully think its a Castaniasura.

I agree as well that the comic is dead on.

Perhaps in the future we shall get a game that incorperates all three elements.

Project Titan.

Just kidding.

In the meantime, out of the three I'll be playing the MMO that is fun to play. Guess I'm a gameplay [filtered] at heart.

Honestly, I actually enjoyed the GW2 personal story more then the swtor story. Something about it just felt more alive, could be the few choices you make actually have a lasting impact. So lets just ignore swtor all together and just combine tera and GW2.
