I am having nightmares of Age of Conan PvP servers at launch if anyone seen that. People were literally camping the respawner and farming players. To me that isn't PvP.

World PvP to me consists of adventuring and along my adventure I spot a worthy foe, within 1 or 2 levels of me and I feel like challenging this person to combat. (And NOT when he is attacking a monster)


Is this a dream? Should I just roll on a PvE server? (I don't like senseless ganking high level vs low level, unfair fights, attacking while fighting a monster, ect....)

Roll PVE in all honesty.

The days of there being very few campers and any community consequences are dead, if they ever existed at all. While I share your vision, it's not going to happen.

I think it won't be TOO bad since the first day is going to be all pre-order people and we also have the option to switch channels.

To me, it's worth getting ganked a bit to play on a serious business PVP server since that's my favorite aspect of games.

Roll RP-PVE. It's the safest place you can go.

I played on CB2-5 on VOT the most populated PVP server and it was fine. In fact if you play smart you will rarely get griefed or killed. The only time you do get griefed or killed is when you look for it.

Stay red for awhile and get killed. Stay in one spot for too long get killed. Play on the most populated Channel and get killed.

It's far from chaos it's loads and loads of fun.

How fast do you level? If you level slow and will be level 30 when many others are hitting 60, expect to get ganked alot. The consequences to PvP do not appear at launch, they take a community to enforce, and a community takes time to be created.

If you level fast and want random Open World PvP over quest mobs/items, then roll PvP server.

Launch is pretty much the ONLY safe time in PVp...most people are going to suck or be low level...I suggest you power level like crazy.

PvP servers are like living in the projects, full of prostitutes and you never know when you are gonna get shanked.
