Area Chat Etiquette

I can only assume a large number of wow kids are playing based on some of the things I see in area chat. People are completely attacked for asking questions. Even legitimate questions get replies like "L2Google IDIOT". I will usually speak up and call players like that out for being jerks. I see a chance for this game to have a good community, but we have to address players like this who do nothing but try to make people feel bad. The game should be fun. I have to deal with enough a-holes in RL, don't be an a-hole in game for no reason. If you see someone behave this way, please speak up and call them out for it, and before long they will learn that in Tera this 5th grade mentality will not be rewarded, but punished. Then, with any luck, it will stop.

Honestly I wish there was a thums up and thumbs down next to each chat reply like in Youtube. Enough thumbs down and you will eventually be silenced. For a while at least.
Have fun.

The people who can pay boxprice but not monthly will be weeded out by end of month, thus a lesser little kid population. : What server? seems etiquette varies majorly across them.

Serpentis Isle has been pretty "decent" so far, but that's probably because I'm a little ahead of the crowd. When the instance server crashed a lot of the tards from 4chan came out of their caves though.

Hey Dontos,

I noticed this pretty heavily during OBT. As soon as headstart hit, I see it in waves. Every time there are questions I always pipe up with an answer. There are plenty of us helpful people out there.

I'm sorry you're having to endure the frustrations of 'barrens' chat, but don't let it get to you. If you find yourself getting frustrated create a filtered channel, and take a break.

I haven't seen Area chat nearly as bad in other areas as it is in Isle of Dawn.

I'm playing mainly on Basilisk Craig. I hope to see less of it as I get out of the lower level areas. I'm level 21 now. It was rampant in OBT, I agree it has gotten better since then, but I still see it pretty frequently. This is one of the reasons I hope this game never goes F2P.

I appreciate players like you more than you know. Every time I see someone take the time to help and answer a question, it gives me hope :-)

They're a lot more of us out there than a lot of trolololol's might think. Also, even when I've asked questions I have been given private message answers. I also do the same sometimes. So that might be something nice to keep in mind. :)
