So no customer has the right to send them a query on when they can expect a retailer to get a product, that's what you're telling me right? That is a really ridiculous business practice if that's your point. Americans have a strange way of doing business.

You can certainly send them a query, but they are not beholden to you and, as made obvious by the response you got, do not need to divulge that info to you. They were "hired" by EME to distribute boxes to shops. They are beholden to EME.

Query EME instead or your retailer. They can in turn pass the query up the chain.

Cheers!

Imperial you seem quite rude In this post. If you are being bothered so much don't post to the Op, I don't beleave you are being made to.

It was just a facepalm moment, when they said "So a publisher doesn't act as a middle man when distributing the physical copies from EME to retailers like Gamestop and Amazon?" in response to me saying Atari does not deal with retail customers. =P

@LordSteelI: ImperialPanda is just being a troll or doesn't play well with others.

Either way I gave up waiting for Amazon and just Pre-ordered straight from En Masse. Can't be bothered with the hassle or issues.

@Blazew

Oh how so? What did I say was incorrect? Or are you just making a personal attack for no reason?

I didn't say what you said was incorrect, but the manner in how you supplied your answer to the OP.

With your constant "For the X time, they do not deal with retail customers."

When the OP haven't denied your statement even from the first time.

So I registered to Atari's website and submitted a query on the status of physical CEs being distributed to retailers. Below is my ticket.

Dear Atari Support Representative.
It has come to my attention that your company is in charge of the distribution of the game Tera to retailers in the U.S.

My question is when can I expect Amazon.com to get the physical version of Tera's Collector's Edition? I've been checking the website multiple times a day in hopes of seeing it up for pre-order but alas each time I've met with disappointment.

Also, I would like to know if your company has distributed beta access keys to Amazon.com yet. If the CE won't be available till near Tera's launch I'll consider preording the standard edition so I can have beta access.

Below is the Atari's personnel's response.

Thank you for contacting us

In this case we are only a publisher, I suggest you go to the official website for the game in order to get further assistance with this questions.

Thank you
Atari Support

Sincerely,

Atari Customer Support

What the heck is this crap? I was under the impression that the publisher is the one in charge of distribution of the game in a region. I was not pleased with this response, it seems they don't even know what's going on and in the end EME will get all the blame.

both companies are giving us customers the run around and blaming each other. here's a post from a thread complaining to EME about when we'll get CE.

Greetings Alesiana,

Currently, the physical version of the TERA Collectors Edition is not listed with various retailers yet, but please keep in mind this will be updated very soon as the physical distribution of TERA will be handled by Atari! So please keep checking back with EB Games on the availability of the physical Collectors Edition!

Please note that we don't have any control over the speed in which the various retailers update their inventory, but rest assured that we're working with Atari to get that resolved as quickly as possible!

Man, it's really true, people throw around the word "troll" for EVERYTHING nowadays...

He repeated his statement because it wasn't getting through. What's trollish about that?

No, they definately denied my statement.

I said Atari does not deal with retail customers.

Then they replied with two questions, "So a publisher doesn't act as a middle man when distributing the physical copies from EME to retailers like Gamestop and Amazon? All shipments go directly from EME to retailers?"

They are obviously trying to imply that because a pulisher "act as a middle man", then they have to deal with retail customers, which, let's be honest here, is quite a ridiculous claim to make.

My reply was because of that.

Every company you talk to about this issue passes the buck to another. No matter how you look at it, the Customer Service of this issue is poor.
