Attempts at "Westernization" are making TERA worse not better.

This is pretty much just your personal opinion. I personally think everything they're doing is improving the game. I can't prove you wrong, and you can't prove me wrong. Thanks for the post, but it seems that EME have made up their minds. If the tables were turned, I wouldn't be complaining about how horrible of a grind the game is; I would simply find a game that suited my playstyle.

I don't think some MMO players ever played with blocks when they were kids. You can't fit a square peg through a round hole. If the game doesn't suit your playstyle, then instead of trying to get it to change, why don't you find a game that does suit your playstyle?

I guess it's more fun to complain until you're blue in the face. To each his own I guess.

Whether or not it is making the game better or worse is a matter of opinion. But what it does appear to be doing based on examples listed, is moving in the genral direction of more instant gratification.

To me, more instant gratification makes for a worse game.

For others, more instant gratification means a better game.

What some people see as quality of life issues, others see as instant gratification.

I agree with OP's disappointment however.

Coming from L2, that game didn't kiss NA's [filtered] and go easy mode until it was close to going free. Went good for a few years and enjoyed the challenge.

This game is hailed as L3 and it's disappointing me thus far.

Why make it so easy? PvE & PvP servers?? What? KTera has just 1 type of server. No carebears.

This is becoming lame every patch that comes and if it gets dumbed down to the point that its too easy to play and I'm out leveling zones too fast to delve into the storyline, I quit on NA MMO's.

WTB Rosetta Stone lvls 1-6. Ugh.

What we have here is a typical case of people that spend way to much time on the flipping game (Like those people that powerlevel through a new WoW expansion in 10 hours) burn through all content in 1 week and go to the forums 2 days later to complain everything is too easy and the game is horrible. Guess what? If you spend 10+ hours a day in the game and you get to level 50 in 1 week, that is your problem. You, regardless of your standards, are not representative of the average player. The developer should not cater to your gameplay and set the difficulty according to what you think it should be.
Thanks to that kind of player, most people that played through WoW never got to experience any of the endgame content and quit way before going through the hassle of forming a successful raid (Which a few years ago would require a good 2 hours of idle time preparing, followed by another 4 hours of instance time).
Tera, just like all other MMO's is packed with hardcore players that are gonna whine and hate no matter what.
Unfortunately, contrary to what most of us whining here might think, hardcore players that spend 10+ hours a day logged in are not majority. The game is not and should not be designed for them, especially at the expense of screwing up the experience for everyone else that choose not to devote their lives to a videogame.

comparing the game from CBT and OBT, the game was dumb'd down a lot. I feel like I'm being squeezed into the endgame too quickly and for what, the nexus? Having played rift and seen this open type of raid system I feel it alone will not make the end game strong enuff for the NA players. There is no need to rush us on the leveling.

Also the enchanting should be removed or revamped for lower levels. We level too fast. There is no point to enchant anything in lower levels since you'll probly have it replaced quicker then the time it took to get it to +6.

I do feel a little insulted that EME feels the game needs to be beaten with nerf bat for NA gamers to buy and enjoy the game. They must view us as a bunch of Herps.

dude i played 4 hours each day on Saturday / Sunday and 2 hours on Monday... I consider that casual or bit additional to casual... but I went from L1-L29...

I call that a bit too fast and I'm not even a so called hard core.

Well if you raided in WoW at all you probly took the time to go online and read boss strat, watch a video, or even looked up a how guide for your class' BiS or rotation. If it wasn't for the Hardcore players that put in hours of theorycrafting and head banging, that information wouldn't be there.

Hardcore gamers are part of the MMO's community. At least let the game be challenging to start then nerf it down.
