BAM fights at 60 are still dumb...

It really must be me. I mean really it must.

I've got a couple level 60's a warrior and a Slayer and I cannot solo a level 59 BAM.

The overly ridiculous aoe damage that randomly hits (misses) me for half of my life while attacking from the side, or the fail lag that prevents my evade from working when I beat the crap out the right mouse button.

I could drink an entire bottle of "Win" with a nice slice of "Elite" and still get killed.

How does everyone else avoid the unavoidable AOE damage from BAMs? How do you solo BAMs if they kill you every time.

I'd like someone with an actual response to share their tactics or at least some tips.

hrm? I've seen plenty of zerks, warriors, and lancers solo bams.

That being said, I don't see the point in getting miffed about not being able to do a group oriented mechanic by yourself.

BAMs at lvl 60 are just much faster. after lvling my main character to lvl 60, and making an alt to lvl 30ish, u can clearly see the difference between the atk speed of BAMs at lvl 30ish and the atk speed of BAMs at lvl 60.

simply put, when i did my VERY first BAM aka the basilisks, their attacks were so slow that i cud literally just try and squeeze in another attack before i dodge.

however, at lvl 60, the BAMs are so much faster that instead of squeezing another attacking in, i have to prepare myself EARLY on for any possible large AOE attacks that can be used by the boss/BAM.

dont feel bad if u cant solo BAMs at higher lvls, since high lvl gameplay is pretty much encouraging players to have group work instead of individual work.

Warrior's DFA will go through almost every AOE in the game if timed right, with the exception of maybe super super long stuff like medusa lightning nova.

Also what archetype are trying to solo? Some archetypes will feel incredibly stupid to even begin to think of soloing. Slugs/Fangbeasts come to mind.

It's possible. Easier on Warrior than on Slayer. As a Slayer, the BAM I find the most difficult to solo is the armadillo-type BAMs since they walk all over you. Pan out your stuns/backstab whenever evade is on CD. Backstab can be used as a free evade. Get out of combat and use bandages if you mess up.

Tried the 48 crabs and the 60's out in Zhakir outpost or something, spelling is wrong I'm sure. Where ever the nexus is going to be I believe.

If I make sure I don't want to get hit from "unavoidable" damage from BAMs, I avoid it.

BAMs do not have "unavoidable" damage. A large number of them have broad frontal cone attacks, notably mobs like Fimbrilisks and Nagas, which have a broad sweep with the arms, then lash forward. Nagas will walk a bit forward when slashing to each side, which increases the overall range of their frontal attacks. You learn early on with some BAMs that being behind it is not always safe.

Part of my attempts to avoid damage come from trying to get the "One with..." achievements, which requires me to fight a large number of BAMs, most of which have various abilities that hit from all sorts of directions. Learn their tells, and general mechanics of each type, and you do very well against them in figuring out what they're going to do before they do it.

As a Slayer, I evade a lot, I run around the mob, I stun/interrupt when I see a Red Eye Attack coming, and if I fail I run away. I kite during enrages unless I'm VERY familiar with the boss mechanics (such as Kumases). Crabs ... walk in all directions and like to trample and knockdown, so staying mobile is key, but behind them is really the safest spot

In Arachnaea, me and a Mystic duo'd ALL four lower sets of BAMS (two sets of Arachnens, two sets of Ovoliths), then trio'd the fifth set with an Archer, because they were f**king Crabs.

Hardest BAMs to solo are, I think, Hydraths, because they have a variety of aoe attacks, but the worst being the skill-lock. Don't avoid that, you can only pot. I absolutely hate and will refuse to solo Fangspawn, because their only safe spot seems to be run under an armpit. I just avoid Orisks and Sand Lizards unless there is pressing need, due to the various burrow attacks.

I think they're the one of the easiest. They're very predictable and slow.

My experience may differ, then. Not that I am dismissing your argument. Can we agree that Basilisks are THE EASIEST to solo?

Try practicing more and carrying potions. I've soloed several lv60 BAMs and a Lv60 BAM World Boss as a Slayer, so it's not impossible. Here are 2 videos I made that might help you:
