Battlegrounds on first months patch or ... ?

so... you cant really release a pvp game without the only competitive pvp element in it...

this being 5v5 and 10v10 arenas, and since they are already in the game, why DONT we have them...

people are already hitting 60 and quitting on pvp servers because owpvp gets boring and is usually very one sided, and people want good competitive group v group action, not zerg and mob adds

so, add bgs for next round of patches before peoples first month runs out, or it might get real quiet around here really fast, which would be sad cuz i like this game.

it doesnt matter if you havent quite finished with the new pvp armor sets and the tokens from the arenas, just give them to us to play while you finish it up, tho seriously, get it done, its one of the only reasons many of us pvpers are still here, waiting.

competitive group v group fights creates competition, and a reason to pvp, to win fights, and talk smack, and you dont get many 5v5s in owpvp, just a lot of trash zergs

lets jump in the wayback machine to a few years ago, age of conan, this new bright and shiny mmo was coming out, looked amazing, and featured pvp and dx11 graphics.. it had subs above one million at launch. unfortunately, the pvp system wasnt in yet. people grinded to lvl cap in the first free month, but then the game stopped, it was either grind dungeons, or kill random people who were pveing, and thus obviously lower level than you (sounds familiar hmmm). by the way, the game didnt have dx11 graphics in it either, the back of an aoc box was just nothing but lies.

so people stuck around till the end of the month, assured that the big patch at the end would give them the competitive pvp they wanted (arena point system for pvp gear, like what tera will be getting), but alas, at the end of the month, aoc players got a patch with minor bug fixes and skill changes... and the devs said "we want to continue to work on the pvp system for a while longer, as we feel you would rather us give you a more polished system, than rush it and give you something now"... thus, half a million players unsubbed, feeling swindled, as something massive that should have been finished before the game even came out, was still just being worked on... this went on for about 3 months, at the end of each month they said basically the same thing again, they wanted another month to work on the pvp gear and arena system before giving it to the players.. after month 3, it was down to less than 100k players, and they still had no pvp system, the game died, and still didnt have what was advertised on the back of the box

so here we are, years later, in a similar situation, a bright shiny new game launches, we play to endgame in the first month, and again find ourselves waiting on a pvp system to be dropped so we can get some competitive action going that isnt zerg v zerg

5v5 requires much more skill than zerg v zerg, debate it or disagree if you want, i really dont care. theres a massive pvp crowd here who wants competition, and we expect to be able to hit a button and que for an arena 5v5 or 10v10, and pvp gear to be won from it. thats not too much to ask, and we know you are working on it. but just know that if you take longer than the first sub cycle to finish it, you are going to notice a massive drop

this and vanarchy should be your top priority, seriously

they are not in the game, they got removed completely from Ktera because the system was fail and is now getting reworked. its due out in the second part of the recent content update. again, it is currently not in the game in either version.

By summer . Where they posted late ? anyone's "bro" they can't just add it incomplete just to please your hearts because your hearts love bashing on them for incomplete work given out as content and force them back to drawing board . They rather give a finish work then a half cooked caked just to please your stomach till the icing has harden on the other half cooked cake.

In other words = full delicious , soft cake better then two half backed , filled with dough and baking powder not fully settle with scribbles of icing

I agree, endgame is uber dull atm. only fun thing left to do is make an alt since i'm not going to waste my life crafting for weeks to craft items that aren't even that good. Yea endgame is lacking pvp. GVG is there, but it's pointless theres no gain from it. Not to mention the gimped pvp system of having to flag yourself to open world pvp. I for one will wait until GW2, if the things i would like to be in TERA are not in by then, I will be migrating to gw2.

it doesnt matter, they have had ages to work this out, all it is is making sets of armor, with appropriate stats, and a token system to get them. the actual arenas are already built, the armor graphics are already built, it doesnt take months to code stats onto gear and make a simple new currency system for the tokens. i could make solid balanced pvp stats for sets in a couple days myself, and develop a token system, how hard can this be? theres already like 10 different token currencies in the game already.

if they are going to delay it, they had better come out and say exactly why and what is delaying it, because if they dont, people are going to assume the worst

knowing that players would be done with their content and ready to get started working on pvp gear after the first month, its not something they can just put off till "late" summer. like i said before, after a month, if competitive pvp isnt in this game, it will get a LOT quieter in game. people who are here for pvp arent going to just grind dungeons every night for a few months hoping for competition to eventually be added whenever the devs get around to it

Summer.

They already said as much.
They probably don't want people abusing the old system to gear up ahead of the newly developed BG content.

Theres your first problem. You think Tera is a PvP game. Sorry you deceived yourself, but Tera is a PvE centered game, with PvP kinda tacked on to the side.

Plus never understood why people think arena's are "MMO PvP", cause its really not. Open world is though. Also, Why do you need to be rewarded with points for PvP gear? This is another very very very bad mechanic, which i hope is never added.

Having an incentive for people to engage in PvP is the main reason for this path of thought. I'm not saying that PvP gear is the right choice, but some mechanic that encourages same-level world or organized PvP would be helpful to this game. Currently there aren't even contested PvE hotspots to get people fighting. Right now there is no reason to engage in PvP unless someone steals your spawn or node - oh so petty. Sure you can gank someone, but do you just want to kill them or do you want to have a good fight?

Point is battlegrounds will be a nice addition, but EME should consider adding something to encourage world PvP. Making World Bosses drop much better loot than BAMs could be an option. Making an area with special gathering nodes could be an option. Making only one certain mob spawn in every high level zone drop grindable rep a day could be an option. Giving the players something to actually fight for in the world would bring a lot more diversity to world PvP and help make it much healthier.

PvP battlegrounds is summertime.

It's the first month, however. Most people are not at the level cap, because they are alt-ADD like me or casual players.

Usually, the first content patch releases some more end-game content since there is always (still) a demand for it from those that speed leveled.

Give it time.
