Berserkers at level 60

I was wondering how EME or BHE plans or if they even have any plans to fix Berserkers at the current level 60 content.

From what I have read they are some of the worst dps at the moment for being unable to live through most bosses AOE attacks due to their block being unable to stop enough damage to even prevent their own death. This was already a problem at 58, appears to be game breaking at 60.

Wait, what?

If AoE's are killing beserkers, what makes you think slayers will be doing any differently?

Could we not shift the conversation towards Slayers because I dont feel like explaining the entire class to someone that clearly has no idea what he is talking about.

Why the aggression?

Im curious, why are bosses killing beserkers and not other classes?

Boss AoEs tend to be huge, and dodging only helps a tiny bit. Beserkers get a nifty ability that "soft dodges" by allowing them to run faster.

And you were the one bringing other calsses into this.

This is a direct comparison. Me drawing the comparison to the other melee dps is an acceptable tool. What other class were you going to compare them too?

But before you go shouting at me saying "you are just ignorant", i would like you to link some videos/forum of lv 60 beserkers showing this concept of them being broken.

Surviving AoEs is not the problem with Berserkers at end-game. Their new 60 skill provides them with a much needed "oh-shi" button.

The problem is the level 60 boss encounters are more mobile than ever before. Even if you glyph for movement speed, Berserker is just cumbersome trying to charge up their attacks. It is both an act of staying in range, avoiding hazards (which are in EVERY note-worthy 60 boss encounter) and not getting knocked over. If the boss goes into a phase where you need to move or take cover, you need to abandon your charge and get out of there.

When a target is stationary, Berserker damage is mostly fine. Not as good as Sorcerers, but no one else is, really.

Again, you drew the comparison. In order for you to say "beserkers die more often", you have to give a standard. Die mroe often compared to who?

Back up this "dying more often" idea with evidence. I would like something more to your argument than "This is the way it is, and dont quesiton me!!!".

This thread is to discuss the current state of L60 Berserker Gameplay.

It's always struck me that Berserker's role is to exploit downed and controlled boss-type enemies with ridiculous spike damage, rather than being a sustained-DPS class, whereas Slayer and Warrior are more competent at staying closer and causing those openings for the heavy hitter to drop the axe for incredibly big hits -- whether or not this is the truth of how they're played is another matter of course.

Isn't one of the Berserker's new moves a dodge? One that you use while charging another skill, right?

Also, Are we talking about getting owned as solo? party? hard mode? All of the above?
Does this possibly have anything to do with improper party balance?

What exactly have you been hearing as far as Berserker getting owned by AoEs?

I am not hijacking, lol.

How is it hijacking to ask how much more often are they dying compared to others?

In order to say a class is broken, you have to have a comparison to a standard.

How is this hard for you to understand?

@Esmorie I had also herd those reports and I do find the Berserker has need of some gap closer. But those are not the only reports I have been hearing. With hard modes, the damage is scaled in such a way that Lancers are forced to block any hits or else be one shotted. This has given rise to many dead berserkers whos pitiful block is not enough to save them. Its also set up that block is the Berserkers only means of preventing damage. So a berkerker has to manually run out preemptively for when a big hit is coming in, or die. In both situations its a huge loss of DPS.

All together Berserker has hit the bottom of the food chain for preferred dps in instances. Hunters are reportedly looking pretty terrible as well. Both classes only have one roll in a group and they cant fulfill that roll at the current end game content.

This is a big issue and I would feel better knowing they have some plans to fix it since Live is coming and I dont know if I want to roll a Berserker if it means being garbage for 6 months until a new content patch comes along.
