I love Tera. Just getting that out up front. Most of my issues are cosmetic, as I like the game-play in general. I'll keep this simple with a pro/con list.
Pros
- Excellent artwork. Immersive and vibrant world with some crazy-looking mobs. I'd love to get a hold of an artbook for this game.
- Doesn't run my video card or RAM into the ground.
- Not having to wait long for access to mounts.
- Instant mount summon.
- Smooth questing. So far I have not been at a loss as to where to go next.
- Fast respawn times of open world quest items/mobs.
- Nice HUD system and unobtrusive minimap.
Cons
- Definitely need a way to stop the enchantment messages. I don't even know why anyone would want to know that.
- The character creation process, while very nice, could do with do with less templates and more options. For example, why can I specifically change lip pucker and eyebrow angle but not lip or eye color without choosing a new face template? High Elves have tons of hair colors, but they mostly so similar to each other it's really like having 4 colors. The more options there are in character creation, the more characters players want to make. I've been known to spend extended amounts of time customizing characters, and to completely restart a character to change a cosmetic issue.
- I went to the armor modifiers in the city and was very disappointed in what I found. The prices are way too high for the armor customization. Also, why does the dye only last a limited amount of time? Huge turn-offs. Also some people wouldn't mind paying real money to revamp their character completely. Just a hint.
- Not being able to preview armor unless it is your current character's armor class.
- Priest healing is a bit annoying I healed for the first time the other night and the tank got low on health. He was running around to avoid the boss so much that it was hard to lock onto him with my mouse. I guess that makes me a 'noob' but it would be nice to have the option of simply clicking the name of a party member on the HUD to target them for a heal. Doing three separate actions (hotkey, aim, hotkey) when a fast heal is needed is going to get old really fast, not to mention range issues.
- Priest party summons should not be limited to a party member being in the same province.
- An auto loot option would be great. Sometimes it's hard to see things that the mob drops. It's fine when someone else leaves stuff behind accidentally, but not me.
- Bandages could heal a little more. Granted, I don't know how much of a problem it is for melee characters in later levels.
That's all I can think of for now. Excuse me if I got something wrong or missed an option that would fix any of these issues. Keep up the great work.
