So after today's patch, I am unable to play once again due to error code as the last patch produced. I have already un-installed, wiped any entries left over in the register, rebooted. And re-installed the game, luckily I made backup of a working copy of the game folder before yesterday's patch download with an error to retrieve code from server. So has anyone else have problems on 64bit Win7 & 8 platforms with this type of error? Also how did you fix it or is there a fix already.
Works fine for me (Win7 x64). Apparently the last patch broke the game on Windows 8 so I would still it doesn't work there.
So I re-installed the game completely from the ground up w/ out using my last known good back up Tera. I still get the same error after the intro movies, all I get is black screen with the little blue mouse that am able to move around. When i press Atl+ctrl+del and bring up the task manager I noticed that there was Tera-Launcher32 *32 (74,912k), Tera.exe *32 (682,940k), and TL.exe *32 (6,084) all are running but Tera.exe not responding after the movie intros, it works before but not after. Still lost on why it doesn't work after a clean installation of game. I have 16gigs of memory so I know its not a memory issue, nor is it a cpu issues. My graphics cards is 1gig GeForce GTX 680M, which isnt a problem either. Am running windows 7 ult (x64). So am lost as I have tried everything that they have listed in support, and I dont want to wait for 4hrs to get help/support on this issue.
well after a couple of hours of trouble shooting and installing a TCP/IP Port and Application Security Scanner. I then ran the game w/ the both scanner in the background. I didn't see any changes in the ports that enmasse listed in their troubleshooting steps. I then noticed that after the movie intro the game files was trying to getting modified with the application scanner. Guessing by the update from earlier today. That is when I looked at my firewall/antivirus program and looked up the HIPs/IDS section. Then I unchecked the blocks for HIPs/IDS. Restarted the game and what do you know it works. logged out of the game and turned back on the HIPs/IDS and it doesn't work. So I had to add c:\Program Files (x86)\TERA to the exception policy. So this is should be added to their trouble shooting guides.
I'm glad you stuck with it, many people have cried that it's Enmasse's fault, faulty programe and I'm quitting QQ etc etc. awesome you stuck with it and found the problem.
