I know League of Legends is F2P but anyone who actually plays a decent amount of it will tell you they've spent a good chunk of money on it, so that argument is pointless.

Well refund my money for buying the game and not charge a monthly sub and I won't think nearly as much about dropping $10 on a weapon skin.

WoW is P2P with sub-par content yet still charges for extra fluff items. I assume you've taken an issue with them as well?

Yes I unsubbed years ago, granted it was before their item shop came online and more an issue of the sub-par content.

My goodness. You are still going on about "textures" as being "content".
Play a game with no textures, and you'll agree with me pretty fast :D

Straw man harder.

Then it's not a VIDEO game is it? Who's stupid enough to buy a VIDEO game without .. you know... video, ergo graphics?

entitlement is rearing its head with people believing that buying the game obviously entitles them to anything the company creates afterwards.
No. Just entitled to the things in the game which we have paid an upfront cost for and continue to pay a subscription for.

Straw man harder.

You didn't pay for those. Unless you can find the weapon skin files in the game files of the original disc. If so they were added later, and just like expansions, they can CHOOSE to offer it for money.

You can CHOOSE to play or gtfo. It really is that simple.

Honestly though I've just decided to click the report button on all you stuff. It's obviously trolling.

Uh, yes, still a video game, you can even see instances in this game of things without textures and you can still, you know, see them.

What part of SUBSCRIPTION don't you understand?

Sure, if I only paid an upfront cost, then I'd have no problem paying again for more content. That's basically how F2P games work. But I'm effectively renting this MMOG from EME. I'm not going to pay them more to add things to a product I'm already paying for.

And of course they can choose to offer it for money. They question is, is anyone stupid enough to pay for it, and then stupid enough to defend it?

Poor people complain the most. It's why Americans are PAID to live. The more children you have the more money you make in America. In a society where you're handed everything people have entitlement issues. Long live freedom?

I would ask you the same thing. What part of subscription don't you understand? This isn't netflix. You aren't subscribing for the ability to play movies as they release. This is a MMO. You are subscribing to play the files that were downloaded or installed of the DISC. Anything after that is extra. Being so they have the right to choose whether or not to charge for it.

You have a really twisted way of looking at the world. Do you buy a car and assume all gas should be free? Or do you pay for insurance and assume you shouldn't have to pay MORE to not have a deductible? Welcome to the real world. I don't find it stupid at all. Why would I? I run my own business. It is my business. I have the right to charge what I want. You as a consumer have the right to buy it or not. You don't have the right though to tell me how I can or should run my business. Same applies here. You have the right to buy their service for the fees they charge. You also have the right to pay extra for any frills they want to offer. You don't have the right to cry like a baby about it.

@Salty21db

TBH, it is not a regional, i.e. American issue. This person just does not get it. I'm sure there are others who feel the same way as Simplecorn, but thankfully it's a minority.

@Simplecorn

Don't know about your system, but I see textures everywhere when I run Tera. As for your "texture" argument again, your analogy has too many holes.

(1) No graphics means you have no video game.
(2) Graphics is a basic element of a video game. It is not gaming content. It's just the visuals.
(3) When you bought & pay fees for an MMO, you're paying for the gameplay and the way they visually present that gameplay.
(4) FLUFF and VANITY ITEMS are not gameplay "texture", it's cosmetic. By definition, it's extra that is not needed.

Check out other MMOs that do this exact same thing. I don't see any complaints there unless it gives unfair gameplay advantage to those with $ to burn. Tera's current offering do not.

Ha ha, no. Tell that to every single player game I've bought.

Subscriptions are for things above and beyond the initial content. Especially in a game which has an upfront cost like this one.

It's a known issue, but it doesn't happen often. Happens to NPCs.

I didn't say no graphics. I said no textures.
Edit: Although this actually fails anyway. Play a text-driven game sometime.
