But that's not what we are talking about here. Simplecorn has a twisted view that extraneous, vanity-driven, graphic textures are somehow the same as gameplay content, especially when they are optional.

Just don't see the logic behind that argument.

Relax...for right now. It's only vanity items. But I agree...they shouldn't really do it. Really sleezy...there should be a special in game vendor that costs you a lot of in game gold for it if you REALLY want them.

AION started out with "vanity only" and...umm....yeah then came the potions, xp boosts, upgrades, armor, mounts, and all those dodads. So...with the same producer as AION on this game let me just say. I REALLY REALLY hope it just stays vanity items.

Cause if it goes more than just vanity items. A LOT of people will leave based on what they believe in and ethics and morals. It's not right for a pay to play game to charge people to get stuff that should already be in game. I hope more doesn't come in so people can pay to win :/

The game has a sub too. Granted, they haven't started charging yet. I'm sure I won't have any weapon skins (or any weapons) if I don't pay it though.

It makes them look nicer (arguably). If you're going to argue that graphical content has no value, again I go back to the example of making all textures in the game a cash shop item.

The stuff in the game is the content. The skins are in the game. The skins are content.
If they aren't content... you're handing your money over for nothing...

Your comments were basically equating cosmetics as the same as gaming content. Most have argued that they are not. So please explain to me how this is a strawman argument & that you have never said such things?
