I feel wronged that the police beat up innocent people, and put them to death after hamfisted trials where the innocent party could not afford decent representation.

When Aion was P2P they were selling more than just weapon skins and gender changes etc etc. Like someone said earlier, cash shop is a trend that most P2P games are heading towards. Vanity skins are just that...vanity. The only way it affects players is it makes them jealous and angry that they are too frugal to spend the cash to get what they want in game. PVPing against someone looking like god in the most ostentatious pvp armor and weapons won't be any different since it is just a skin. But my point is, even if vanity items get EPIC it won't change the fact they are just vanity items. And last time I checked, i play this game for the gameplay and not the way my character looks. I think people should just lighten up and stop being drama queens over non-gamebreaking items. But as I've seen there is no game I've played that they have put some of the best gear in game on cash shops because as you said that kills the game, I would quit if they put in top end gear on a cash shop because that's throwing [filtered] in my face after I played and earned that gear through months of grinding.

It isn't the first. Of just the MMOs I have recently played in the past 2 years: EQ2, Aion, and UO did/do it too. I'm fairly certain there are others. Fluff is fluff. Pets and mounts are fluff, WoW isn't any "better". It seems that your concern it mostly around these skins being better looking than other gear. First, that's completely subjective. I'm sure there are plenty of people who don't think that highly of the skins. Second, how do you know that there won't be "better" looking weapon skins available in-game at some point too? These are merely options for people who want them, they aren't meant to replace gear.

Also, "Cash shops" in P2P games have been around for years now, I don't understand why people still think it's a F2P thing. It's not, not anymore.

paying to play means you have to give them money in order to play. F2P means you can just download the game make an account and get on and start leveling. cash shop is completely and totally optional in any game. It's like paying to go to disney world and then seeing shops inside disney world selling expensive vanity items such as t-shirts, coffee cup mugs, photoshots on rollercoasters, autograph books to get signed by disney characters, etc etc. You have to PAY to get in but everything else from there that costs money is optional
