Actually I'd argue Quite the opposite. Graphical content has more value to me than gameplay value. I'd gladly pay for something that let me visually look the way I wanted, but I'd never spend a dime on things that would give me a gameplay/competitive advantage.
Since you recognize that the content has value to the players, I assume you can then understand why some are miffed that they have to pay to access this content in a game they have already paid for and continue to pay for?

Such entitlement...

I pay you for a service. You do such, offer to come back - free of charge - and touch-up, and then leave. You then do something else for a person who paid you to do something unique. I then rage at you for not doing that for me at the price I paid you.

Principle or not, this isn't the old MMO way, anymore. That time changed, and the companies need to make money to survive. The fact that we pay for customer service and regular service costs, along with our free patch content does not mean that if one of their art departments comes up with something extraneous, we are entitled to it.

I never post on mmo forums, but I have to say something. People like Crumplecorn and the other trolls that start and argue on MULTIPLE threads need to stfu! You are some of the dumbest humans on this earth. Your points and arguments are the some of the stupidest crap I have ever seen. Its people like crumplecorn and this new "Generation" of "Crybaby" gamers that is ruining mmo's. Good god people, are you that butt hurt on vanity items?? If you are all upset about this then you should cancel all your other pre-orders to the new mmos comming out. Heck stop playing them all together, because cash shops are HERE and will be in EVERY mmo that comes out int he future. *SHADES DOWN* DEAL WITH IT OR GTFO!!

its not content you mush brained cow pie.

content is dungeons, gear, classes, instances, maps, etc.

content is not: vanity mounts, vanity costumes, race changes, gender changes, server transfers, name changes, cosmetic reworks, vanity pets.

get it through your thick idiotic skull that you arent being prohibited from any kind of 'content'

It makes them look nicer (arguably). If you're going to argue that graphical content has no value, again I go back to the example of making all textures in the game a cash shop item.


You keep doing reductio ad absurdum on every case you are presented.

You have no idea of what logical boundaries are and expected standards, aparently.

You cannot make the things you mention optional because the public does not percieve such thing as optional.

You stretch the concept of a weapon skin so far to the point where you use a broad concept like "graphics" to defend your argument. This is simply not applicable because "graphics" are expected as up to par content for the product, compared to other products of the same caliber.

Yes, EME could "make graphics optional" and by doing so they would breach all the stablished notions of the gaming industry, very likely taking themselves to bankrupcy.

A vanity item like that indeed has very little value, no matter how you want to contaminate other concepts that do have more value.

Now, if you want to argue that this has a lot of value for you, perhaps even as much as all the game's textures, then that is fine, but you really need to change the way you convey your thoughts and stop your demagogic ideas.

Mom... he has a better looking sword than me!!! I know my sword does 10x more damage with enchantments but his looks cooler than mine!!! Mom.... Mom please tell eme that they need to stop with the cash shop. IF I cant have a SKIN that does no value then NO ONE can have the skin. How dare that lvl20 have a better looking weapon then me!!!!!
