Now I don't play wow but, There is no similarity to WoW for Tera. Combat system isn't the same, quests aren't, crafting is half and half similar an same for flying but still.

You are the first person I have ever seen say that the questing in TERA isn't the same as WoW's. :P

That's... odd...

You do realize that TERA is B2P + added subscription... right? lol You're paying for a full game and voluntarily giving them more money per month even though you technically "purchased" the game.

nope don't see it that way. F2P is like Vindictus, B2P is like GW 1 & 2. I'll gladly pay my 15 dallors a month after paying for the game. Tera is like WoW, Swtor, Rift. Each one of these games are far better than games like GW, or what ever other games that fall under the B2P games.

isn't 15 dollars a month enough of your money? cash shop plus monthly fee isn't good business. If you are really wanting to turn this game in to WoW2.0 just offer us pets and mounts that we can purchase online to.

Now I don't play wow but, There is no similarity to WoW for Tera. Combat system isn't the same, quests aren't, crafting is half and half similar an same for flying but still. There's no Genuine resemblance WoW So take your [filtered] theories and think bout what you said. ALSO WoW isn't the first popular MMO. EverQuest was and WoW stole the idea's so. :P

PS. Yeah bout the micro transactions. As long as they don't have stuff to help you win the game better, I'm all for it. But still, I think it would be a neat thing to add But that's just my opinion.

That missed the point entirely. It was only referencing for the fact it would turn it into monthly cost plus having unnecessary micro-transactions.

And no, anything that you're asking for (costumes or otherwise) should be added as obtainable in game (and so far that is the case) without a cost besides the monthly fee to play the game associated with it.

And that's exactly what companies are hoping that people will continue to believe. :)

Also... GW2 is FAR more massive than GW1 and are 2 completely different games. It's actually a bit of a misnomer to say Guild Wars 2 because it really has so little in common with the original GW set-up which was much more of an "online RPG" versus a traditional "MMO".

Actually I see the future of MMOs as simply cash shop and not subscription based.

As more and more MMOs go the F2P route, players are going to wonder why one AAA title charges a subscription fee while another AAA title doesn't. More and more players are going to go towards the non-sub MMO because they don't have to pay the extra fee.

It's actually a fallacy that MMOs need subscriptions to keep afloat. It was true when MMOs first started but not today. Server maintenance and costs is very low relatively. If it was really needed, GW2 would have to charge a sub seeing how massive that game is and how many players it will have. Arenanet is going to be the first game developers to let players know that no AAA MMO needs to have subscriptions.

Why do MMOs still release with subscriptions? Because they know that there are a lot of people who still BELIEVE that only the "good" MMOs have to charge subscriptions. As long as there are enough people who are willing to shell out the extra money, greedy companies will force that subscription model. Also, there's a negative stigma with F2P as them being "buy-to-win" and giving serious unfair advantages. Cash shops that are implemented correctly completely eliminate the stigma.

simple answer for me: P2P = somewhat more mature player base, no annoying kiddies screwing up your parties and guilds. sure you still get some, but its far less than most F2P cashshop supported games. go over to one of the other publishers of lesser asian MMOs that are free account + free download + free to play + P2W cash shop and check out the community. its a night and day difference.

I'll never play a F2P game, unless its B2P and they charge like 200 bucks for the game as a barrier to entry for the more undesirable elements.

You sound like those people who want every MMORPG out there to go F2P. F2P is not the future. I still believe P2P is way better. Why? In P2P I pay a flat fee $15 a month and not have to worry about Cash Shop being unbalance and pay to win.

You say there is way to implement make it so F2P is balance and not pay to win. I hope you wake up from your dream because please name me a F2P game that is balance and survive just on costume and cosmetic along? All F2P Company will try to make every way possible for Customer money to spend more and more money. Biggest one being Cash Shop bigger bag item, mount, potion, etc.

I'm glad to pay Tera $15 a month and enjoy a balance game play without having to worry about paying extra. F2P will Guarantee to cost more then P2P, it is a proven fact. That's why many MMORPG model are switching over to F2P. Also F2P released content not as good as P2P, it is also a proven fact. And another thing, F2P will always released content that make people spend more.

If you like F2P go play a F2P game. Tera isn't going to F2P anytime soon.

^ This right here.

F2P is NOT the way to go with MMO's. It's just players trying to be cheap and play for free. Once a game goes F2P that means its dying and/or didn't live up to expectations. Don't put that on TERA on its only 3rd day of live status.

You're already able to get costumes and do cosmetic stuff to gear. No need to charge extra for it, just don't be lazy and actually DO what is required to get the stuff.
