Dawnhide is a b*tch to collect. The other hides seem fine. Alternative methods to level leatherworking would be fine but don't exist. Any plans to fix it?

if you plan on leveling leatherworking to max. buying 50 5g dawnhide is probably the 5th cheapest material. good luck.

Make alt, kill animal mobs while leveling.
Or pay, it's really the only two reliable ways, the drop rate is so bad for a high level it's actually faster to level up an alt to do it with.

It only took me leveling up 7 characters between 12-and 40 plus buying a little from the brokerage to get enough dawnhide to level up to 50 in leather working.

You can gather so much of everything else from the quickly respawning and stupidly plentiful nodes that you get sick of it and never want to see it again.

Nothing is broke with this, nothing at all.

at level 40+ You can easily 1-2 shot these mobs and take very little damage. BOL gives about 7-20 hides per run solo

Yeah, wait until you have a mid-level character and farm BoL. Crafting while leveling is pointless anyway.

One of the Hands of Velika dailies asks you to turn in a base material or a processed version of it, in this case Dawnhide, where it asks for 8 of it. I had 3. So, I ran Bastion of Lok once, and came out 22 ahead. Certainly, this is determined by RNG, as the drops are not guaranteed, but I am able to run the dungeon every time I need to do the quest, and never touch my backstock.

You do realize that hides, of any tier, do not drop exclusively, or even mostly, from animal mobs, don't you?
