Deleting non-preorder characters is a terrible idea...

I have at least 5 people on the hook (like fish) who I'm trying to convince to play Tera.

Here's the problem: most of them have incredibly busy schedules. This means they can only play a few hours every weekend.

This wouldn't be a problem, except that the first 20 levels of Tera are yawn-worthy at best. There is zero challenge and very little skill required. I was psyched to finally get these people (who had reached around 15ish) to 20 and show them just how awesome BAM fights can be.

After all, it's not until you start doing instances and fighting BAMs that you see just why people are making a fuss about Tera.

So that means these people with extremely tight schedules are NEVER going to get to try a BAM fight until they preorder, and they're never going to preorder until they can see what makes Tera so much fun, ie. BAM FIGHTS!

It's a catch-22: I'm never going to convince these people to come to Tera until they can fight a BAM and see why it's so amazing...and they're never going to get to fight a BAM on their busy schedules until they get a chance to level to 20.

PLEASE reconsider deleting the non-preorder characters from CBT to CBT! :(

PS: I hear what you're saying: they can play in the OBT, but they're STILL not going to make it to BAM fights in the OBT, either, which means all of the "free" chances for them to fight a BAM will be gone.

I'm a non-preorder person, and I logged in and was very disappointed to not see my characters from last beta there.

I closed the game and won't be playing (and most likely pre-ordering) any further beta content. I don't want to spend a good portion of the weekend re-leveling content I've already seen twice.

GL to you guys with people that do stick around.

This situation can be rectified. Do you have any hinderances on Pre-ordering? If you dont like it, cancel and no funds lost.

If you pre-order you can upgrade your weekend beta key and continue where you left off.

I was going to use this 2nd weekend to confirm if I wanted to pre-order or not. Funds are tight, and honestly after the last beta it was only mentioned that characters wouldn't be wiped between closed betas, not that it was a pre-order perk only.

No loss for me though, I have a lot of other games to catch up on.

I'm with this guy. No one knew that you had to pre order to get your characters kept. I wouldn't of leveled so hard if I have known this

Well, it isn't really a preorder-only perk. Whether you keep characters in-between is dependent on your access level. If you have access to all 5 tests, you keep characters between them. Preorders aren't the only ones who have access to all 5. Only the people that use 1-test only keys have their characters wiped. Which, frankly they should expect.

However, I don't really get the issue here. It's a closed beta. Not everyone can participate, and many companies wipe in-between tests. If you or your friends want to "demo" the game, you should use Open Beta for that, not Closed Beta.

Also, preordering only requires $5, a deposit which you can get back in many cases from retailers.

Will you get your characters back if you do?
