Devs: 3 ways to save/fix Tera

1. Prioritize PvP content instead of PvE - I have no idea why developers continue to think people want "end game" to revolve around grinding PvE content for gear/rep/gold. People don't do this crap because it's fun they do it because they HAVE to else be left behind and at a disadvantage.

This game has sooooo much potential it's just sad to see it wasted making the same mistake every other crappy MMO has made. The best part about this game is the combat system and running the same instances 900000 times against scripted AI where you know all the moves/mechanics and can get thru them on auto pilot barely paying attention sucks the life right out of the combat. Then if Jesus himself does descend and grant you the miracle of a gear drop for your class and you win the roll you get to spend even more time grinding PvE content for enchantment fodder and gold (which you'll need to grind a lot of thanks to the terrible enchantment system).

Who on earth thought this was a good idea? This is NA not Korea. It's no coincidence that the PvP servers are the most populated. It's because we want to actually PvP here (if we actually had time to.. speaking as a person who has a job/life and only gets a few hours to play a night)

Surely there's a way to stop the insanity here, no? You've already got a fun GvG system waiting to be put to good use. So simply provide us with a way to progress our gear at endgame that revolves around pvp or GvG instead of grinding PvE instances. Obviously it will require some creative thinking so people don't abuse it but I hardly think it's impossible.

2. Remove safe zones from all outposts - only the main towns in each zone should be safe (IMO I think only the 3 big main cities should be safe but that's just me). It's hard to breed a good pvp community when 95% of the population is encouraged to act like carebear losers because they have a safe zone they can hide in every 12 feet. I honestly see little point of even splitting your servers up if they're all essentially PvE servers.

3. Increase incentives to PvP - if you give people more incentive to actually participate maybe they wouldn't run and hug safezones so much. Give us open world resources to fight over and control because they give us some sort of in game benefit or buffs. Give us a reason to declare on a guild and fight them for control of their zone and resources in that zone. You could even straight up copy the way Global Agenda handled it in their AvA's, that'd be a good start. Anything at this point would be an improvement over the current reward of nothing for winning or even participating in a GvG.

Just the top 3 off the top of my head, feel free to add your own suggestions.

So instead of fixing the PvE, just add battlegrounds...

Eh battlegrounds are a good first step in the right direction but not some cure-all solution to this game's problems.

I love running PvE instances repeatedly on all three of my characters (Lancer/Warrior Tank/Mystic) because each and every time I can improve.

Not all of us, even on the PvP servers, are here to PvP and nothing else. I enjoy it, but it's not my focus and it's not why I'm here.

Maybe OP would be better suited to Call of Duty.

I actually don't care at all about PvP.
To me, I play MMOs for social interaction and PvE.

I'm not saying your priorities should be mine or that they shouldn't expand PvP content. I believe they SHOULD expand PvP content since people want that; I just don't want PvP to take full priority over PvE to exclusion.

Highly disagree with removing safezones. I like having the ability to go to the bathroom or grab a drink without having to run across an entire zone to do it safely.

At most I'd say make it so you won't be safe at an outpost if you enter it while in combat.

I'd like to see this as a Vanarch power.

How great would it be if Vanarchs could modify who is affected by a safe zone?

For example, safe zones could be set to apply to non-reds only, so outlaws could still fight and kill each other in safe zones, but other players could still be protected. Alternatively, vanarchs could just disable safe-zone protection for all players in their province.
