Disbanded LFD Group

First off I am a Lancer, I have been farming Balder's Temple for a Eye Opener with no success for 2 weeks.

Today I Intentionally disbanded a LFD group for the first time. Do you guys think I did the right thing?

Here is the situation:

1 Mystic iLvL 141
1 Archer iLvL 142
1 Sorcerer iLvL 146
1 Slayer iLvL 140

(All from VoT)

Normally I try to form on server locally as much as I can (Jagged Coast), but it was 4am Central Time and not many people are actually on doing dungeons at this hour. So I solo queued.

As I enter the dungeon I ask to inspect everyone to make sure we have the sufficient DPS to clear this. Normally on our server people who do BT always request 144+ for a normal run. I have done it with 141s mixed with 145s and the such but always we average out at arround 144.

I explain to the group and the slayer politely that this dungeon has hard dps mechanics at the last boss and we will not be able to do this without solid dps. Slayer goes on to say that this is his first time in THIS dungeon and he just wanted to try it and does not know fights and has been in queue for 2+ hours. I feel sympathetic but at the same time... I don't want to wipe hours on end when I already know we don't have the DPS to do this. So i apologize and vote to kick. The archer, I don't know if he is a friend or his or not, but declines the vote. So I respectfully apologize again and explain that we simply do not have the DPS to do this. Archer again declines. So... after that I explain I'd rather wait on my CD then wipe for 3 hours to no avail - and DISBAND.

Do you guys think I did the right thing?

TL:DR: Went into dungeon, had very low DPS. Explained that we can't do this and why we can't. Apologize and vote to kick. Vote to kick declined by certain member of group twice, after explaining again. Did not want to wipe endlessly- decided to disband.

No, you were a douchebag.

No you did not.

A: You should never disband a group, it's just rude. If you don't wanna be in a group, just leave it. You have no right to force the other four people to leave the party.

B: A lot of TERA comes down to skill. You didn't even give them a chance, you just based your decision on gear as if this game has Gear Score like WoW.

C: It's called "vote to kick" for a reason. So when someone votes against the kick that's your answer right there.

D: You only had to wait 15 minutes top while these other people waited 2 hours.

E:
I don't want to wipe hours on end when I already know we don't have the DPS to do this.
Sounds very selfish and it also sounds like you didn't even give em a chance

I'm a Lancer.

You were leading a group.

You made the best decision you saw fit given the risks, and the benefits.

You not only protected yourself, but you protected your men that were in the group YOU LED.

You did the right decision, as they wouldn't have wiped repeatedly, nor would they have had to pay for many crystals under your watch.

I support you, buddy.

How did he make the right decision, if he didn't even attempt to try? You say they woulda wiped repeatedly but in all actually you have no idea because you have never played with any of those four people. What does being lancer have to do at all with the situation?

Dear lord. If this is the quality and mentality of the Tanks who play TERA I may find myself abandoning the game much sooner than I had hoped.

I had enough of this sort of crap from WoW. That it is infecting TERA sickens me.

I used to think WoW was a great boon for MMOs. Now I'm seeing it has in reality become a cancer on the MMO community.

I believe he made the right decision because being a Lancer myself, I know how it feels to spend hundreds of gold on Crystals, hundreds of gold on (Pots and Pans), gold on Crit Scrolls (level 60 Archer) and know how disappointing, and very disheartening it is to fail at a dungeon run because of DPS.

I've done BT as a Lancer, and know what item level, and what weapon level is required to do said dungeon. Without those criterias met, and the usage of Crit Scrolls (if you're going bare minimum item level), you will NOT pass the DPS check for last boss. And that is why I can say that he did the right decision without trying.

I don't have any idea about those individuals, you are right, but with what I've stated above, and the post from the OP regarding their item levels, I can already tell that they would have wiped MANY times.

I run dungeons all day.

When I join a group, I check item level.

I can tell when a run will be harsh, when it'll be easy, and when it'll be just downright painful. I either disband, or leave the parties where it'll be painful and grind through the other ones.

You can like, or not like my opinion. You can say whatever you wish and call me what you will, but my belief and opinions are just that.... My opinions. Based in my experiences, and as such I support what this man did, and encourage all TANKS (warriors / lancers) to filter through the smog.

If your item level is up there, and the DPS is not... Don't waste your time.

As always it is forever the individuals choice.
