Do Priests Get Better?

I am currently playing a level 37 priest, and I must say I am disappointed. The class is extremely dull and boring, save for a few instances. The only time I have an ounce of fun is when I'm struggling to keep my party up for some reason or another. But besides that, the class is boring so far. The healing aspect is good, I don't have any griped with that (other than maybe the skill animations take to long), but the damage aspect is just downright frustrating.

I have better than average gear, yet my damage is still complete [filtered]. I hear my party members saying they crit for over 40k, and I'm still doing 400 damage max, and that's a crit. My ranged damage is even worse, the triple attack I'v been stuck with for 35 levels does like 600 damage accumulative. And that's another point, I have had the exact same main damage skills for like 35 levels. My auto attack, the wave thing, triple threat, and the huge ball thing. That's about it. For 35 levels. I just hope this class gets better somewhere in the higher levels.

You are a healer. You are not meant to do damage. Thus you do crap for damage.

You are a healer. EME does not want you to level.

Well, its either that or they dont care enough about healers in order to find a solution. I bet is the latter.
Apperently healers are not cool enough for developers to care about how we level. Go Pew Pew dps!!!

You grit your teeth and tough through it or get a group. It's that simple.

Healers are always in short supply for BAM quests, people are always looking for healers for BAM quests. do BAM quests, did I mention BAM quests?

Every dps I know including myself has a huge backlog of BAM quests...

Level 60 Priest here.

As stated, we're not meant to do damage. We're not like a WoW priest, where we can choose a DPS spec. We're here to heal. That's about it.
Having issues soling stuff? Grab a friend. I'm sure plenty of people would be more than glad to quest with a priest, and it's what I did. I leveled with a DPS class all the way to 60. Worked like a charm. And yes, BAM quests.

Lancers and healers really weren't made to level solo IMO.

Wow, all the answers I see up to now come either from trolls or people that do not have priests.
Priest levelling can be made better with a few techniques and your class should not have any issues punching through content fast even playing solo. I have a 54 priest and I am doing just fine playing solo even though I am always glyphed for party/instance heals because I love instances as well.
There are plenty threads explaining how to optimize your damage and fight mobs.
Are you going to 1-shot mobs? Never. Can you compete with a slayer in DPS? That would be a sad goal to have if you made a healing class.
Please head to the classes thread and read up on what many helpful members already posted regarding priest rotations and playing solo.

Healers and tanks get the short end of the stick when it comes to questing.

all 4 of the classes, Warrior being the best of the bunch, suffer to some degree. Tough it out with a party of 2 so you dont go insane.

Also yes warriors are gimp too, try leveling one, after 30 if not sooner you are using a bandage after almost every single mob kill, its horrendous.
