Do story quests rewards ruin aspects of the game?

I love TERA, but I feel that rewards given out for simply finishing story quests are a bit overpowered. I understand that Bluehole wants to keep players properly geared for the upcoming quests, but they can tone down the stats of story quest rewarded gear and make the stuff we get now craftable items. It would make the crafting system so much more useful than what it is and add a challenge to the game since not everybody will have pimped out gear.

I posted a similar thread like this before, but I wanted to post it again since the stuff I've been getting from story quests really do turn the tide of battles when the shouldn't. Crafting is something I enjoy in other MMO games and would really like to continue doing so in TERA.

I won't, but a man can dream.

the quest reward items are terrible though. you cant even queue for 60 instances with the quest rewards due to item level restrictions.

good luck doing the balders dps race with those basic items too

Thankfully skill is more meaningful than gear in this game so that won't be a problem. My suggestion is simply some advice to fix crafting or at least to make it a little more useful than than what it is now.

I disagree about toning down the quest rewards.

I would prefer that crafting be a more viable option.

Compromise: Make attunement recipes for all of the weapon drops (not quest rewards, regular drops).

Ex: Turning white drops into green attuned (enchantable) items. This would make crafting more viable and enchanting would be more useful (prior to level 50).

I'm sorry but Smough is absolutely right, and you're wrong; Tera is an incredibly gear based game.

This is only reinforced with latest hard mode dungeons having some very tight gear checks in the form of enrage timers. "Skill" although an important factor (just like in every other MMO) can only take you so far.

So yes, appreciate the quest items while you can because if you want to have any chance at end game content you'll be replacing it soon.
