I recently start playing Slayer and am up to level 23. I really enjoy playing it and it sure came to be powerful much earlier than Warrior. I'm just wondering if Slayer basically uses the same skills from level 18-20ish levels all the way to end game?
It has been really easy to quest, level, and solo BAMs with my Slayer and it is really time consuming to do those things on my Warrior of similar level. My level 24 Warrior is a really pain to level but people say it gets good at level 28, when I get more skills. I imagine Warrior completely changing at level 28 while Slayer basically stays the same. Are my assumptions true about both classes?
we only use a few skills, =( but god they hit hard
Slayer doesn't change much, even going into 60, from a PVE standpoint at least. You'll still have 3-4 skills that will be your staples and everything else will be additional chain combos (at current, I can chain up to 10 skills at once with a full MP bar for roughly 80% of a mob's HP at 60 before it can get back up and fight)
Knockdowns, rear-criticals and stuns (casters and BAMs) are your main strategies as a slayer whereas other classes are much less dependent on these tactics to get max damage.
Yeah I definitely love Slayer and wish Warrior got its better skills the same time as a Slayer. My Archer seemed to get quite a bit more powerful quickly.
Mystic is supposed to take a long time to have awesome abilities as well. I've never been a fan of playing classes that don't really shine for a long time. I'm not putting Slayer down, I'm just using it as a comparison to wish other classes had their good skills come early as well.
At 28 warrior gets the attack that lets them hit up to 32 hits at once which turns out to be a very useful skill and will be used ALOT. Slayer does get a few new skills here and there but the few you have right now will be your main attacks for the majority of it. At lvl 56 I think it was you get a "Backstab" move on slayer that teleports you behind the monster and stuns them which is instantly a favorite skills of them. Warriors get this as well (not sure what level) Overall both classes are similar to each other except warrior has vastly lower DPS power and more maneuverability. Of course every class is really good if you know how to play them correctly.
Love the slayer so far yup, been working on zerker , warrior and mystic too but so far I enjoy slayer the most.
